Pepperoni Pizza Bites

  1. Because my daughter adores the small frozen bagel pizzas, I decided to create a simple Pepperoni Pizza Bite dish from scratch that she would like.
  2. Baking bagels and then topping them with pizza ingredients would take too much time, so I simplified the process by baking them in muffin moulds instead of a loaf pan.
  3. These little pizza pieces would be perfect for an afternoon snack or even as an appetizer for a party or gathering.

How to Make Pizza Bites

  • Prepare the pizza dough as follows: After you’ve combined the dry ingredients, add the yogurt and mix well. To make the dough tacky but not sticky, knead it for about 10 minutes. Premade pizza dough may be used to make this even faster if you choose.
  • 16 equal-sized balls of dough should be formed, and each should be pressed into the prepared muffin tray.
  • 15 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit and remove the dough from the oven are sufficient
  • Toppings for your pizza bits include: Gently push the dough down in the middle of each cup to form a little well in the center. Top each with sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices, if desired.
  • Bake the bits for a further three minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the small pizzas from the oven with care and allow them to cool completely before serving.

Pizza Topping Ideas and Variations

  • You may use any topping you want on your pizza bits
  • I used turkey pepperoni on mine, but you can use whatever you want on your pizza! Here are a few suggestions: Preparation: Veggies with finely sliced bell peppers or any other chopped leftover vegetables
  • With fresh mozzarella and basil, make a Caprese salad.

  • Pesto and cheese pizza
  • Ricotta, mozzarella, and Italian seasoning are used to make a white pizza.

  • I used homemade bagel dough to give my pizza bits a little additional protein, but you could simply use pre-made pizza dough if you like.

  • 3 1/3 cups tomato sauce, marinara, or pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ounce turkey pepperoni, diced
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for garnishing the dish

  • The mixture will appear like little crumbles.
  • Sprinkle lightly with flour on a clean work area, and take dough from its bowl. Knead the dough several times until it is tacky but not sticky, about 15 rounds (it should not leave dough on your hand as you draw away from the dough)
  • Divide the dough into 16 equal-sized tiny balls (each weighing around 25 grams)
  • Each ball should be pressed into the bottom of the muffin cups, allowing it to rise slightly beyond the rim.
  • Remove from oven after 15 minutes and carefully push the balls down in the centre to make a tiny well
  • Bake for another 15 minutes.
  • 2 tablespoons sauce, 1 tablespoon cheese, and a sprinkle of pepperoni should be placed on top of each ball.
  • Return to the oven and bake for another 3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the oven and set aside for 2 minutes to cool. Carefully remove the bits from the pan using a paring knife or a metal offset spatula, cutting around the top to remove any cheese that may have adhered to the pan’s surface.
  • Spray the pan once more and continue the process with the remaining dough and toppings.

Using a cross-cut saw, cut the cake into 12 pieces. Place each slice into the muffin cups that have been prepared.

Mini Pizza Bites: You Won’t Be Able to Stop at Just One

  1. The memories of pizza parties in grade school, ordering pizza delivery on Friday nights at home with my family, and getting a few slices at the mall with friends are all associated with something celebratory, whether it’s the anticipation of an approaching long weekend or the memory of a birthday that has passed.
  2. In my opinion, eating pizza in any shape is always a pleasurable experience.
  3. However, when a dish is on the menu on a regular basis, it’s easy to get into a rut and become stale.
  4. Almost every week, my husband and I place an order at the same establishment down the street.
  5. This is despite the fact that he has lactose intolerance (yes, he will actually risk physical discomfort to eat this delightful food as often as he can get it).
  6. The majority of the time, we select between one of two topping options that we really enjoy.
  • The pie is nearly totally consumed, with only a little amount remaining for leftovers to be enjoyed the following day.
  • However, there are occasions when you don’t want to consume an entire pizza.
  • You don’t want to be stuck with leftovers.
  • You yearn to rekindle the excitement that you had as a child when pizza signaled the beginning of a special occasion.

I find it amusing that even now, in my maturity, while hosting a party at my home and feeling sluggish, my initial inclination is to simply order a basic cheese and call it a day.Do you behave in a similar manner?Granted, this isn’t the best idea when there’s a ton of other food competing for available table space. There is, however, a remedy.

  • These nibbles allow me to bring pizza to the party while still living up to the expectations of being a handmade, from-scratch food blogger.
  • They’re great for sharing since they come out of the oven golden brown rather than in a cardboard box, and they’re simple to make.
  • In fact, I’d be willing to bet that these small pizza pieces are the quickest and most convenient way to get that cheese flavor that you love without having to call for delivery or make pizza dough from scratch.
  • Due to the fact that they are baked in a little muffin tray, they are absolutely poppable.

Consider appetizers that are meant to be dipped into marinara sauce and then devoured on the go.You should not be astonished if these bites disappear from the table as soon as they are placed on the table for everyone to enjoy.Cooking a double batch is highly recommended if you have the time and room in your oven. Not only does this make for a terrific appetizer, but it also makes for a fantastic mid-afternoon snack for both adults and children alike. This dish, consisting of of pepperoni and cheese, may appear straightforward.

  1. However, the spices and fresh herbs give these bite-sized savory morsels a flavor that is reminiscent of that typical handmade pie from your favorite local establishment.
  2. The preparation of a handmade sauce or the waiting for dough to rise is no longer necessary.
  3. Try this dish, savor the mouthwatering pizza flavor, and remember to have a good time with it!

Cooking By the Numbers…

Step 1 – Prep and Measure Ingredients

  • If you are using fresh herbs, remove the stems and finely chop the basil and oregano before using.
  • To make 1/2 cup of pepperoni slices, dice enough pepperoni slices to equal 1/2 cup total.
  • If necessary, shred the mozzarella and grate the Parmesan on top of the dish.

Alternatively, you may use cheese that has already been prepared to save time.As tempting as it may be to use pre-sliced pepperoni and shredded mozzarella instead of dicing the cheese, you’d have to cut these into such small dice in order to fit them into the mini muffin cups, so using pre-sliced meat and shredded mozzarella is the preferred option for this recipe, and I’ve found that this method yields the best results.A light yolk should be beaten, and the remaining ingredients should be measured exactly as stated in the recipe.Keep in mind that this recipe calls for onion and garlic powder, not onion and garlic salt, in order to achieve the desired flavor.

If you use flavored salt, the finished product will be too salty, so avoid it!Instead of buying ordinary onion powder, you may pound dehydrated onions into powder using a mortar and pestle if you can’t locate any locally. This was something I tried lately when I only had onion flakes on my spice rack, and it was quite delicious.Cooking spray or oil can be used to coat a 24-cup mini muffin pan, or oil can be brushed into each well of the pan.

Step 2 – Make Batter

In a large mixing basin, whisk together the flour and baking powder until well combined. Combine the dry ingredients and stir in the beaten egg, herbs, milk, salt, and spices. Mix everything together with a whisk. Mix in the mozzarella and pepperoni until everything is well-combined. Set aside for 10 minutes on the counter while you prepare your oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 3 – Bake

Continue to stir the mixture until it is smooth before filling each muffin cup 3/4 of the way with batter. Sprinkle a tiny quantity of grated Parmesan into each well, making sure that each is evenly covered with the cheese. Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the top is puffy and brown. Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes in it.

Step 4 – Warm Sauce and Serve

Meanwhile, while the bites are baking, reheat the sauce in a small skillet over medium heat, or in the microwave, until it is just warm. Serve the heated sauce alongside the nibbles so that people may dip their bites in it.

Snack Now, or Snack Later

  • Perhaps you might not wish to consume all of these items immediately after they have been baked. Is it possible to freeze these and reheat them later? Yes, it is entirely possible. After allowing the bites to cool to room temperature, just store them in an airtight container or frozen storage bag until needed. These will stay in the freezer for around 1-2 months. Refrigerate overnight before serving, or defrost on half-power in the microwave for 30 seconds before serving. Simple and delicious! You may also reheat frozen bits in the microwave, or you can heat them up in the toaster oven. • 1 Spray a nonstick cooking spray on a pan and set aside.
  • Prepare a tiny muffin tray by sprinkling it with nonstick baking spray and placing it in the oven.
  • Set it away for future reference.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204.5 degrees Celsius) as you are doing this.A conventional muffin pan can be used instead of a mini muffin pan in the event that you don’t have a mini muffin pan.

  • 2Roll out the pizza dough and cut it. With the use of a rolling pin, roll out the dough. Cut the dough into 24 triangles using a sharp knife. Triangular shapes should be roughly the same size as if you were using a round glass or cookie cutter, but with three pointed edges instead of two. Each triangle should be placed into a cup in the muffin tray. Leave two ends of the triangles hanging out of the pan so that you can remove them from the pan with less difficulty later in the cooking process. Because the dough will expand as it cooks, just a little amount of the ends should protrude from the rest of the dough. Promotional material
  • 3 Combine the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. To begin, place one spoonful of tomato sauce into each cup of dough and mix well. Then, on top of each dough triangle, place a pepperoni slice. Add in the other ingredients, such as the olives and mushrooms, and mix well. Finish by sprinkling mozzarella sauce and parsley on top of each dough disc.

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray the baking pan. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (218 degrees Celsius). While the oven is preheating, prepare a normal muffin tray by lining it with paper towels. Nonstick baking spray should be used to coat the muffin pan.
  2. 2 Make the dough according per package directions. Take the pizza dough out of the refrigerator and place it on a baking sheet. Allow it to warm up to room temperature on a floured surface before using. Roll the dough out until it is as thin as possible with a rolling pin. 24 circles should be cut out of the dough using a cookie cutter or a round glass. Each circular should be pressed into a separate muffin cup. The circles should be slightly bigger than the cups in the pan you’ll be using
  3. Otherwise, they’ll be too small.

3 Ingredients are sprinkled on top of the dough. One pepperoni should be placed in the bottom of each dough cup. Then, on top of each pepperoni slice, dollop 12 to 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on top. Over the sauce, sprinkle the cheese mixture on top. If you’d like, you can scatter more small pepperonis on top of the cheese.

4 Bake the pizza bits for 12-15 minutes, depending on their size. When the dough is ready, it should be golden brown in color. The cheese should be bubbling and melted on top of the dish. Allow them to cool before serving them while still warm. If you plan to keep the leftovers for more than a few days, cover them in plastic wrap or aluminum foil to keep them fresh.

  • It is optional to use finely chopped dry herbs such as basil, oregano, or rosemary.

Instructions

To assemble pizzas:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil that is nonstick. Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, shape it with your fingers to make it into a 12″ by 8″ rectangle, and gently stretch it.
  3. Cut the dough into 18-20 rounds with a round cutter, and lay the rounds on a baking sheet 1 inch away from one another. Top each with pizza sauce, cheese, and any other toppings you wish.
  4. Mini pizzas should be baked for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. Serve as soon as possible.

To make pizza dough:

  1. In a small dish, whisk together the yeast and warm water until well combined
  2. Leave aside for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing basin or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and olive oil until well combined.
  4. Alternatively, dried herbs such as basil, oregano, or rosemary can be used. In a separate bowl, combine the yeast water and sugar. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, either with a dough hook or by hand, on a well-floured surface. If you are using a stand mixer, take the dough from the bowl once it has completed kneading and form it into a big ball by hand.
  5. Set aside two small bowls that have been gently oiled with olive oil. Using your hands, divide the dough into two pieces and form them into balls. Place each ball into the oiled bowls, seam side down, and drizzle a little olive oil over the tops of the bowls. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap or a clean, dry cloth and set it aside in a warm location until it is ready to use (I use an oven preheated to 250 degrees F, then turned off). Allow about 2 hours of rising time.
  6. Once the dough has risen, it may be used right away by turning it out onto a floured surface and shaping it. Alternatively, wrap the dough in plastic wrap before placing it in a plastic bag and freezing or refrigerating it for later use.
