    Dessert Fruit Pizza Recipe

Dessert Fruit Pizza with a sugar cookie crust, cream cheese icing, and a citrus glaze is a bright and colorful dessert option.A real show-stopper during a potluck! My bucket list item of making a Dessert Fruit Pizza had been on my to-do list for a long time, and I finally got around to it last summer.CHECK.Everything has been completed.Fortunately, it did not let me down at all.

    1. However, it is a labor of passion on my part.
    2. Fruit Pizza, while simple (I swear!
    3. ), involves a number of stages and is not something you can whip together in 30 minutes or decide to cook on the spur of the moment.
    4. That is one of the reasons I had put it off for so long.

    What is Fruit Pizza?

When it comes to summer get-togethers, Fruit Pizza is unquestionably a show-stopping dessert option. What it is, is simply a massive sugar cookie or tart that is coated with an incredible cream cheese spread and garnished with lovely seasonal fruits. What’s not to like about this?

Type of fruits for fruit pizza

Any variety of fruit can be used in this recipe. This is your opportunity to express yourself and have a good time.Make use of your favorite ingredients as well as what is in season.Summer is my favorite season because of the abundance of berries, peaches, pineapple, kiwi, and mandarin oranges.Fall: A fruit pizza with pears, apples, plums, grapes, figs, or pomegranate seeds would be a delicious way to celebrate the season.Personally, I believe that the more color and diversity the better, but a basic design with simply a handful of fruits is quite acceptable as well.

    1. Holidays: Only strawberries and blueberries would be as joyous as they are during Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day, among other occasions.
    2. You can also slice or chop your fruit, which means you have a plethora of alternatives to choose from.

Despite the fact that many dessert fruit pizzas are created without a glaze, I believe that adding a glaze component elevates the fruit pizza from a 10 to a 15. Do I have to chill the dough beforehand?

Yeeessss. Prior to forming the sugar cookie crust, it is necessary to refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes (and up to a day) before spreading it onto the pizza pan. Otherwise, it has a propensity to expand out too much and pour over the edge of the baking pan as it is being baked.

Can I use store-bought sugar cookie dough instead?

Yep! However, because store-bought dough is often thinner, you may end up with a crispier crust than you planned or you may need to increase your baking time a little bit.

Do I have to make this in a circular pizza pan?

My pizza pan was 12 inches in diameter (affiliate link), and the recipe below is based on that size pan, as well. Having said that, I’ve heard of folks doubling the crust to suit a rectangle baking sheet measuring 12 x 17 inches, and the bake time should be same as long as the thickness is the same.

    Storage and Making in Advance

Is it possible to create the fruit pizza the day before?Make the sugar cookie crust and cream cheese topping up to 1 day ahead of time and store in an airtight container.Keep the cooked and cooled crust at room temperature, well covered..Keep the cream cheese topping refrigerated, well wrapped, until ready to use, then let it to soften somewhat at room temperature to make it easier to spread on the cake.Frost, arrange your fruit, and glaze the day before you plan to serve it.Keep it cold until you are ready to serve it.

    2. Keep in mind that the sugar cookie crust will soften and the fruit will begin to dry out as the recipe progresses.
    3. Ideally, this should be served within 24 hours of preparation.
    4. Make this dish before summer ends and offer it to guests or family members that come to your house.

They will like it, not only because of the great sweet taste, but also because of the beautiful appearance. Also? You may customize it every time you build it, which makes it a lot of fun to make!

What is the Best Fruit for Fruit Pizza

There aren’t any rules in this case; any fresh fruit will do just fine.In reality, canned fruit can be used if it has been well rinsed and drained before use. There is one exception to this rule: frozen fruit should be avoided at all costs. As frozen fruit thaws, it produces a large amount of liquid, which will only result in a mushy and unsightly smear on the counter top.Otherwise, the fruit you choose may simply be based on what is available in the shop or farmer’s market at the time. You might even stick to a theme and use just berries or only tropical fruits, for instance.

Filling the bottom of a pan with cookie dough is a great way to save time. It should be around 13-1/2″ thick.
