    Breakfast Pizza

    • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/2013The crescent rolls provide for a flaky crust that is delicious.
    • It was baked in a 9 x 13-inch casserole pan.
    • It didn’t necessarily taste like pizza, but it did have a similar texture.
    • It may use a little kick, like some green chiles or spicy sauce, to make it more interesting.
    • It was quite enjoyable.
    • I threw in some diced ham and bacon chunks for good measure.
    • My children even ate some of it.
    • In fact, I believe I used more eggs than the recipe asked for, as 5 seemed insufficient.
    • In addition, it takes a little longer to cook than the recipe indicates on the label.

This is convenient since you may incorporate a variety of various ingredients or vegetables into it.You could add anything you wanted in an omelet on top of this dish.Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Nice breakfast meal served with a fruit salad on November 13, 2012.

    • Very simple and delicious!
    • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 01/03/2014 I didn’t have a pizza pan, so I used a 9 x 13 casserole dish to bake it instead.
    • As a result, it came out looking more like a casserole.
    • Following the advice of others, I increased the number of eggs used (to a total of 7) and added green pepper, black olives, and bacon pieces.
    • It turned out well and gave the impression that I was eating an omelet with potatoes and a biscuit (oh yeah, I used biscuits instead of crescent rolls).

I omitted the hash browns from the recipe since I dislike them.Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 12/18/2012I have a pizza stone and a pizza pan with holes in the bottom, both of which are incompatible with this dish’s cooking method. As a result, I opted to use an oblong casserole dish, which turned out to be an excellent choice.

Even though I made a few mistakes with the layering, the final result was still pleasing.I had a fantastic breakfast casserole for dinner, which was just amazing.Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/2015 We spiced up the sausage mixture by adding spinach and green onions, as well as a few other ingredients. We had to cook it for an additional 8 minutes to get the brine on the top!

    • It was very excellent!

    • My variation consists of handmade dough that has been flattened out on a baking stone.
    • Sausage gravy, hash browns, mushrooms, onions, eggs, sausage, and cheese are all served with this dish.
    • Rating: 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/2014I prepared this meal for breakfast today and was dissatisfied with the results.
    • It would have been better if I hadn’t included the eggs in the first place.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars The crust was a disaster (hey, it was my first time making a crust!) on February 16th, 2019.Now I’m aware of the need of conserving water. The green pepper was sliced and included since I needed to get rid of the pepper I had.I ended up not being able to finish it all, so I simply stored the leftovers in the refrigerator and reheated them whenever I felt like it during the week.It was very excellent!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/2019 This is just fantastic!I was successful on both occasions. The first time, as directed by the recipe, and the second time, with diced onions and bell pepper added. The process of cooking it with the additions takes a bit longer, but the end result has a somewhat distinct flavor. Both are fantastic!

    2. A single box of crescent rolls was insufficient.
    3. It was because the crescent rolls were not properly sealed that the egg mixture seeped out.
    4. If this had been prepared in a glass baking dish with sides, it might not have spilled as much.
    5. The flavor was pleasant.
    • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 05/30/2018 I modified the pizza dough to a refrigerated yeast pizza crust to make it more substantial.
    • Even though the pizza was delectable, it definitely could have used more eggs and a method of keeping them in the dough.
    • I think the next time I make it, I’ll pre-mix at least the cheese and the eggs, and maybe even the hash browns, and then layer them on top of the sausage in the crust before baking it.
    • It’s possible to include some crumbled bacon.
    • Had a hankering for these ever since the local grocery store that used to prepare them in-house closed its doors.
    • So, all in all, I was a very content camper!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/2015Overall, this is a decent recipe.Because I didn’t have a pizza pan, it ended up becoming a casserole.Absolutely filling, with lots of leftovers to share.I’m thinking about experimenting with chorizo and green chilies next time.Rating: 5 out of 5 stars 30/05/2018This recipe was simple to prepare and a hit with my guys.Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 05/19/2019This was a great experience for my family.

I made adjustments based on my own preferences and the ingredients I had on hand.Because that was the only thing I had on hand, I substituted hot italian sausage for the morning sausage.Because I didn’t have any Parmesan on hand, I used cheddar.I also used green onions in the recipe.

What I enjoyed about this dish was how simple it was to modify it to meet my vegetarian requirements.I just omitted the sausage from a little piece of the meal for myself.I’ll include mushrooms in my vegetarian portion the next time I make it.

    • I’m glad I raised the margins a little higher since it does cover the space quite a bit.
    • The crust got a touch too brown since I had to cook it longer for the eggs, but my son, who has braces, felt it was a fantastic meal to have for his sore mouth while he was eating it.
    • Rating: 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/2017 Due to the fact that the dough does not hold together, it is difficult to work with, and fat from the sausage can seep through and cause the bottom to burn.

    1. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars 05/31/2018 This was a quick and simple dish to prepare.
    2. I would, however, use Pillsbury’s pizza dough in the future since I was unable to obtain a sufficient edge on the crescent rolls to prevent the egg from overflowing out of the crust the first time.

    • For those of you who would prefer to forget about cold leftover pizza for morning, but who still want to indulge in the concept of eating pizza for breakfast, this recipe is for you.
    • Even while morning pizza can be found just about anywhere, there’s a particular type popular in the Midwest that we’ve become really fond of.
    • Although this regional speciality appears simple at first glance — a layer of sausage, eggs, and cheese on a basic crust — a closer look will reveal a creamy cheese sauce in place of the usual haphazard handful of cheese, and a layer of hash browns hidden beneath the layer of sausage, eggs, and cheese.
    • Those small elements elevate this gas station pizza to the level of inspiration it deserves.
    • On a weekend morning, you can complete the entire pizza from start to finish in about an hour.
    • However, you can prepare the majority of the toppings the night before and bake this pizza in less than 30 minutes any day of the week.

    Casey’s General Store Breakfast Pizza

    • Casey’s General Store, an Iowa-based convenience store chain, is responsible for the creation of the most well-known morning pizza in the Midwest. Throughout the day, Casey’s stores prepare and sell morning pizzas. Pizza crust is covered with the restaurant’s famous cheese sauce, sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese, among other things. While you may change up the other ingredients on the pizza, the cheese sauce is the key to creating a morning pizza like Casey’s. So, what is the best way to bake a pizza for breakfast? The solution is as straightforward as you might expect: Top it with conventional breakfast stuff, but do it with a little delicacy to make it seem more elegant. Sausage, hash potatoes, and scrambled eggs are staples in our house since it’s filling, tasty, and reheats nicely. Although this dish appears to be lengthy, you may prepare the cheese sauce, cook the sausage and eggs, and grate the cheese the night before, and then build the pizza the next day once they have been assembled. Cheese sauce: You may make the cheese sauce the night before and put it in an airtight jar in the refrigerator overnight. Alternatively, a prepackaged product such as Cheese-Wiz can be substituted.
    • Sausage: For this recipe, bulk breakfast sausage is the way to go. Preparation should begin the night before.
    • Eggs: I’m not a big fan of pre-cooking scrambled eggs, but between the cheese sauce and the cheese on top, the pre-cooked eggs will steam as they reheat and won’t dry out in the oven like they typically do. These can also be prepared the night before
    • however,
    • Fresh hash browns: While handmade hash browns are preferable, buying frozen hash brown potatoes and thawing them in the fridge overnight can save you a lot of time in the kitchen.
    • Breakfast pizza is a terrific way to make use of leftovers in the morning.
    • Replace the scrambled eggs with cubes of leftover frittata (or breakfast casserole) on the pizza, or substitute the hash browns for leftover roasted veggies from yesterday night’s meal to make it a vegetarian option.
    • Using the formula of pizza crust plus cheese sauce plus cheese plus toppings, you can breathe new life into those stale leftovers.

    Ingredients

    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/4 cups whole milk, divided
    • 1 tablespoon cooking spray
    • Split 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • Split into two equal halves
    • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    • Breakfast sausage, uncooked and with casings removed, 8 ounces
    • 4 big eggs
    • 1 pound pizza dough that has been let out at room temperature
    • 1 cup thawed frozen hash brown potatoes
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 2 thinly sliced onions
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit with a rack in the centre of the oven. Prepare the cheese sauce by spraying a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until it is completely melted. Cook, stirring constantly, until the butter-flour mixture loses its gloss, approximately 1 minute. Remove from the heat and set aside. 1 cup of the milk should be whisked in, and the mixture should be brought to a boil, whisking occasionally, until thickened, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in half of the cheddar cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of salt until well combined. Put it aside to cool somewhat while you finish up the rest of the ingredients for the toppings.
    2. Cook the sausage and eggs until they are done. Using a medium nonstick frying pan, cook the ingredients over medium-high heat. Cook until the sausage is browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes, depending on the size of the crumbles. While the sausage is cooking, whisk together the eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl until well combined and smooth. The cooked sausage should be transferred to a dish lined with paper towels using a slotted spoon. Allow any remaining sausage grease to remain in the pan before pouring in the egg mixture. Scramble the eggs for 3 to 4 minutes, or until they are almost cooked through but still juicy. Remove the pan from the heat and roll out the pizza dough, docking it as you go. Form the pizza dough into a 12-inch round by rolling or stretching it out. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet and set aside. Working from the center outward to within 1 inch of the edge, ″dock″ (poke holes in) the pizza dough with the tines of a fork. Because of the warming cheese sauce, the dough will not become soggy as a result of this.
    3. Make a sauce for the pizza. Spread the cheese sauce on the pizza crust in a thin, equal layer, just like you would pizza sauce. It’s possible that you won’t use all of the cheese sauce.
    4. Place the toppings on top of the pizza. Sprinkle the sausage on top of the cheese sauce, then add the hash browns and scrambled eggs on top of that, and you’re done. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, the remaining 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese, and the scallions over the top of the pizza.
    5. Preheat the oven to 200°F and bake for 20-25 minutes. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown
    6. remove from the oven and set aside.
    7. Allow to cool before slicing. Allow the pizza to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into it. This will allow the cheese sauce to harden and prevent it from seeping out. Transfer the mixture to a cutting board, slice it, and plate it

Food storage: Leftover pizza may be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days if it is firmly wrapped. For the best results, reheat in an oven or toaster oven until warm.

Aldi Pizza In 2022 (Types, Prices, Best Ones, Quality + More)

    • Pizza is one of those simple and uncomplicated dishes that can be found in almost every American household.
    • While supermarket pizzas can range in quality from excellent to so bad it belongs in the garbage, there’s no denying the convenience of being able to pick up a couple slices while doing your grocery shopping is unbeatable.
    • Aldi has included pizza in their product line, but you might be amazed at how many various varieties they have available, as well as how many different diets they can accommodate.
    • Look at the different kinds, how much they cost, if they’re any good, and a whole bunch of other things!
    • The great bulk of the pizza available at Aldi is offered under the Mama Cozzi Italian foods brand, which is owned by Aldi.
    • They go one step farther and refer to it as the Mama Cozzi Pizza Kitchen line, as if to emphasize the ridiculously large choices available.
    • Seriously, in a supermarket with just 4,000 distinct things, it’s safe to say that 1,000 of them are pizzas!
    • Continue reading to find out more about the several sorts of pizza Aldi sells, which ones are the best and worst, and why Aldi pizza is so inexpensive.

    Types Of Pizza Aldi Sells

    • Aldi sells a frozen thin crust pizza for $2.19, continuing the long history of low-cost grocery store frozen pizzas.
    • The frozen thin crust pizza comes in a variety of flavors, including cheese, four-cheese, pepperoni, three meat, and supreme.
    • If you looked at any other supermarket, I really doubt you would be able to buy a frozen pizza for that amount.
    • These thin crusts aren’t very large, but they may easily satisfy two or three people when served with extra sides.

Crusts that are frozen and rising are available in cheese, supreme, and three meat varieties, which elevate the experience just a little bit more. For that extra-thick crust, you’ll spend $2.75 – which isn’t too awful since you’re not paying more than $3 for much more carbohydrates.

To save money on an expensive Pizza Hut order, you might try the Cheese Stuffed Crust in pepperoni or three meat varieties from a frozen food store. I couldn’t discover the exact in-store pricing, but Instacart shows it as $6.39, which suggests it’s probably less than $6. I couldn’t find the exact in-store price, but it’s listed as $6.39 on Instacart.

Organic Frozen Pizza – If organics are your thing, you won’t be left out of the Aldi pizza selection if you shop there. The two organic alternatives from Simply Nature, the 3-cheese and the Margherita, are both $3.99 for around 12.5 ounces of pizza each.

Frozen gluten-free — Aldi caters to the gluten-free folks, so that if one member of your family is gluten intolerant, you won’t have to make a special journey anyplace else to get what you need. The liveGfree branded cheese or pepperoni pizzas are available for $5.29 per at the restaurant.

A variety of toppings, including three cheese, Margherita, roasted vegetable and uncured pepperoni, are available on the frozen cauliflower crust pizzas, which range in price from $4.99 to $6.79. The frozen cauliflower crust pizzas are ideal for low-carb eaters and are available in four different sizes and flavors.

Refrigerated Cauliflower Crust — A terrific choice for vegetarians or those following a low-carb diet, the refrigerated cauliflower crust pizzas are 12-inch take-and-bakes that are available in pepperoni and veggie varieties and cost less than $7.

Cold Take & Bake – The chilled take & bakes feature the biggest selection, including 16″ five cheese, sausage & pepperoni, pepperoni, mega meat, chicken, bacon & ranch, and supreme pizzas, in addition to a 12″ ultimate meat pizza. None of them are more than $6, yet they are crammed full of delicious toppings!

Refrigerated Flatbread — In addition to your traditional round refrigerated pizzas, Aldi sells flatbreads (rectangular in form), including a Southwest style and a pepperoni and mozzarella, for around $4.50 per flatbread (with tax).

French Bread — Fans of Stouffer’s famed French bread pizzas will go crazy for the Aldi versions, which are available in two varieties: deluxe (with supreme-like toppings) and extra cheese (for an additional charge). However, I was unable to locate the pricing of them in-store, but they are $2.49 on Instacart.

Pizza Snacks — The brand name version is Totino’s Pizza Rolls, and Aldi sells their own version of these pizza-adjacent snacks, in pepperoni and combo flavors, for $2.59 (20 oz bag) or $5.49 (40 oz bag) in their supermarkets (45 oz bag).

When it comes to pizza, Aldi is known for putting out a variety of options, and their Aldi Finds collection is no exception. These products may be labeled as Mama Cozzi, Specially Selected, liveGfree, or even Simply Nature, and they are all available at a variety of pricing points.

Aldi does not appear to offer any pizza alternatives that are acceptable for vegans at this time, as all of their pizzas are made using cheese that comes from cows. Additionally, Aldi sells refrigerated breadsticks, which are pizza-adjacent but not quite pizza-like enough to make our list.

    Is Aldi Pizza Good?

    • However, while the thin-crust frozen pizza is extremely economical, reviewers decry the taste, or rather, the lack of taste, citing flavorless ingredients and a lack of toppings as reasons to avoid the product.
    • Despite the fact that these supreme pizzas are not particularly tasty, I have eaten them several times when I needed a quick supper option.
    • While they are not particularly appetizing, they are not much worse than other supermarket frozen pizzas I have had.
    • While you could get a $5 Hot N Ready from Little Caesar’s for a few dollars more, the bottom line is that if you’re purchasing a cheapie pizza from Aldi, you should walk in with the mindset that you’re there for the price point, not the exquisite flavor.
    • The same critic who criticized the thin crust pizza went on to recommend that buyers instead choose for the Take & Bakes in the refrigerated area of the store.
    • If I’m being really honest, I’ve had a couple of them and, while they do taste better than the thin crusts, they didn’t provide the flavor punch I was expecting for.
    • They’re fine, but they’re not spectacular, and I didn’t believe they lived up to the promise of how delicious they appeared on the plate, especially after baking.
    • (Plus, because they’re refrigerated, you have to consume the Take & Bakes within a few days at the most, but the frozen pizzas have a shelf life of many months.) A Specially Selected product, however, is one of my personal favorites: the French Recipe Bistro-style pizza, which is topped with creamy crème freche and crispy bacon, is one of my faves.
    • Despite the fact that the Mama Cozzi label might often be lacking in taste, this pizza is delicious.

What Is The Best Pizza At Aldi?

    • Aldi’s speciality pizzas or Aldi Finds frozen pizzas are, in my opinion, the greatest pizzas you can purchase at a supermarket.
    • My experience has been that they are the most dependably good-tasting, high-quality pies that the store has to offer on a constant basis.
    • As previously noted, you can’t go wrong with the French Recipe Bistro-style and Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Cuban Style, which are two of their more recent additions to the pizza menu line.
    • Compared to their conventional equivalents, both have stronger and tastier tastes.

What Is The Worst Aldi Pizza?

    • This may come as a surprise to some, but the conventional Take & Bakes are the most disappointing when it comes to the contrast between how promising they appear and how they taste.
    • To be clear, I’m not saying that you should have unrealistic expectations when you’re spending $2-some for a frozen pizza.
    • Most likely not.
    • In exchange for paying $4-6 at Aldi for a refrigerated pizza that is bigger and appears fresh (and comes in that attractive packaging), you should anticipate a pie that is comparable to that of a restaurant once it has been baked.
    • And, if you ask me, it isn’t exactly what you receive when you order.

    Is Aldi Pizza Cheap?

    • As you no doubt saw in my breakdown of the several types of pizza that Aldi sells, Aldi pizza is quite affordable, even when it comes to speciality pies.
    • When compared to a Wegmans-brand organic pizza that costs $5.49, their thin crust frozen pizzas are only $2.19, and their Simply Nature organic pizzas are only $3.99, according to the company.
    • Similarly, a gluten-free pizza from Wegmans costs $6.49, but an Aldi liveGfree pizza costs nearly a dollar less at Aldi.

Does Aldi Sell Cauliflower Crust Pizza?

    • Aldi has both a refrigerated cauliflower crust pizza and a frozen cauliflower crust pizza on its shelves.
    • The frozen cauliflower crust pizzas, formally known as the Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen 12″ Cauliflower Crust Deli Pizza, are available in two flavors: cheese and vegetable.
    • They cost $6.79 each.
    • The frozen pizzas are available in four flavors: Three Cheese, Uncured Pepperoni, Roasted Vegetable, and Margherita, among others.
    • These are priced between $4.99 and $6.79, depending on the quantity purchased.
    • Fans of the ketogenic diet, I’m sorry, but these pizzas are not the healthiest option for those of you on a diet.
    • They are just too heavy in carbohydrates, with the frozen pizzas containing 24 grams of carbohydrates per serving (unless you’re having a semi-cheat day, 24 grams of carbohydrates will likely derail a regular eating day).
    • Gluten-free eaters, on the other hand, can rejoice!
    • Both varieties of cauliflower crust pizzas are gluten-free and can accommodate any unique dietary requirements you might have.

What Is The Best Way To Cook Aldi Pizza?

    • The oven is the most effective method I have discovered for cooking Aldi pizzas.
    • Sometimes the most apparent and straightforward solution is the most effective solution.
    • It is critical not to allow the frozen pizzas to thaw too much before placing them on the oven rack; otherwise, they will be a disaster to transfer to the oven (and they cook by sitting directly on the rack, not on a pan).
    • If the frozen crusts become too warm or soft, they become soggy and sticky, and they are unable to be transferred to the cooling rack.
    • They may also end up drooping throughout the cooking process, resulting in toppings – or worse, cheese – falling to the bottom of the oven and becoming burnt.
    • Stay away from the muck!
    • However, here’s a suggestion for warming your leftovers: If you’re reheating by the slice, place the slices in the air fryer for a minute or two at 400 degrees before serving.
    • It brings the pizza back to life, and it tastes just as wonderful, if not better, than it did before.

Does Aldi Sell Pizza Crusts And Dough?

    • Pizza crusts are available at Aldi in a limited range.
    • Mini pizza crusts, which are supplied in quantities of three, as well as three sauce packets, are among the options.
    • Originally $3, they are now available in two varieties: original and thin.
    • Unfortunately, Aldi does not
