Review: Pizza Hut – Tuscani Pasta – Creamy Chicken Alfredo

• Pizza Hut has expanded its menu to include pasta in addition to its traditional cuisine of pizza and its Wing Street concept for hot wings, which was previously unavailable.
• Pizza Hut really played a practical hoax on the public on April Fool’s Day by issuing a news release claiming that it was changing its name to Pasta Hut.
• I’m not a great lover of pasta in general, but the concept of trying it piqued my interest, so I gave it a shot.
• Over 3 pounds (in pre-cooked weight) of baked pasta (either ″Creamy Chicken Alfredo″ or ″Meaty Marinara″) plus an order of five breadsticks are included in the $11.99 price tag.
• To give you an idea of scale, I included a coin in the photo.

Surely you must think I’m rather helpful.I was pleasantly pleased by how wonderful the spaghetti was, given that I wasn’t expecting much.Pizza Hut is marketing it as a convenient alternative to cooking pasta from scratch.Tuscani Pastas from Pizza Hut are a great option if you want a baked pasta dish but do not want to go through the hassle of making it yourself.I didn’t care for the breadsticks since they had that fried crispness to them that reminded me of Pizza Hut’s pan pizza, which I don’t care for.They’re more like fried breadsticks than anything else.

Baked breadsticks are considerably more appealing to me.As a side note, they don’t taste particularly good with the Creamy Chicken Alfredo; I suspect they would be better with the Meaty Marinara.Store Locator for Pizza Hut

• Several Olive Garden recipes, including this one, have proven to be successful for me, and this one is no exception.
• Although a widely distributed recipe claiming to reproduce the chain’s signature Bolognese was developed on Olive Garden’s own website, if you follow the instructions, you will be disappointed when the finished result does not even come anywhere close to the genuine thing.
• Without going into all of the specifics of what went wrong with that recipe (too much wine, save some of it for drinking!
• ), it’s clear that a few key ingredients found in traditional Bolognese sauces are conspicuously absent, including milk, basil, lemon, and nutmeg.
• I’ll leave it at that, and move on.
• Then I experimented with various different techniques of braising the beef to ensure that it came out perfectly tender: covered, uncovered, and a combination of the two.

The results were delicious.The strategy I landed on was to simmer the sauce covered for 2 hours, then uncovered for 1 extra hour, allowing the sauce to decrease and the beef to convert into a fork-flakeable taste bomb while the sauce reduced.It’s true that this Bolognese comes from Olive Garden, but it’s better than any I’ve eaten at restaurants that charge double the price, such as Rao’s, where the beef is ground rather than braised and they charge $30 for a plate of food.

To clarify, the meal is served with ruffled pappardelle pasta, but it is actually mafaldine pasta, a smaller noodle with curled edges that is available only at Olive Garden restaurants (shown in the top right corner of the photo).Perhaps this is because pappardelle, which is the usual pasta to serve with Bolognese sauce, is a very broad noodle with straight edges, and it’s more recognizable to people than mafaldine, which is why the menu makes this distinction between the two.Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter the type of pasta you use.Just keep in mind that a broad noodle will work best.

• Even fettuccine is a delicacy in this place.
• To save time, I used a readymade bottled alfredo sauce for the small amount of alfredo sauce spooned into the centre of the plate.
• Even though you can make the sauce from scratch (I have a terrific hack for Olive Garden’s Alfredo Sauce), because it’s such a little quantity, prepackaged sauce in either a refrigerated tub from the deli department or a bottle from the grocery store works perfectly here.
• This dish ranked third on our list of the most popular in 2019.
