- Sheet Pan Pizza from Trader Joe’s If you’ve been reading this blog for a time, you’re probably aware of my fondness for pizza. It’s something we have a couple of times a week at my place. Keeping up with the appetites of two growing boys is a constant challenge, and one thing I’ve learned is that pizza is a terrific way to do it! To demonstrate how to make a beautiful pizza at home with Trader Joe’s fresh pizza dough, I’ve created two videos. Although I prefer their basic dough, the whole wheat and herbed doughs would also work just as well for both of these recipes if you choose. (The second approach, described in my Trader Joe’s Pizza Dough Review, is a conventional round pizza.) The pan pizza is the first thing I’m going to try to create. This is so easy to make that you’ll never want to purchase frozen pizza again! To make a pizza, you just spread the dough on a sheet pan, sprinkle it with your preferred toppings, and bake it. My final piece of advice is to carefully take your pizza off of your pizza pan or baking sheet before cutting it into slices. You might end up damaging your pan if you don’t. A 4′′ rolling pizza cutter works well for me since I can put it into a big cutting board and cut it that way. However, you may make do with a huge knife.
My “Super Supreme” Pizza

You may use any toppings you’d like, and you can surely experiment with the proportions of the ingredients.The key to remembering this is that you don’t want to go overboard with the toppings; a little bit of everything goes a long way.The fact that this is a thin-crust pizza means that piling on a ton of heavy toppings will not be beneficial to you in this situation.While this may not appear to be a substantial amount of cheese, it really melts down to the ideal amount: The total cooking time for this pizza should be approximately 5 minutes, depending on whether you are using a pizza oven or a standard oven.
This will, of course, vary depending on the individual oven you are using and your preferences.Keep an eye on the pizza while it cooks, and rotate the pizza if you see that one side is cooking more quickly than the other during the cooking process.The Trader Joe’s Spicy Honey Sauce is a delicious finishing touch for pizza that I use after it comes out of the oven; I cannot suggest it highly enough!Although it may seem strange, the combo is fantastic.You can bet your bottom dollar that once you prepare this Trader Joe’s pizza, it will quickly become a weekly regular in your meal rotation.

- Partially knead each ball of dough for approximately 30 seconds to smooth them out, then divide the dough into two equal-sized balls of dough. Cover the dough balls with a cloth dampened with warm water and set them for another hour.
- Meanwhile, prepare an oven-safe pizza stone or pizza steel to the highest heat setting while the dough is resting for the last hour of preparation (usually 500 degrees F). See the comments above this recipe card for a detailed explanation of why I advocate using a pizza stone and what alternatives you may use instead.
- After an hour, start forming your pizzas. In order to maintain air in the crust, press out towards the crust and then take up the pizza dough with your fingers hooked beneath the crust, allowing the weight of gravity to expand the dough. If you have enough dough, you should be able to construct 10″ pizzas from it.
- A pizza peel should be dusted with semolina flour (or cornmeal) before adding your pizza dough to it.
- Fill in the gaps with sauce, cheese, and whatever additional toppings you choose, being careful not to overload the pizza because it is a thin crust.
