Ingredients

Pizza rolls that have been frozen.Using these instructions, you can make any brand of frozen pizza egg rolls from scratch.Normally, I make these with Totinos pizza rolls, but you can also use Annie’s Pizza Poppers, Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Snacks, or Kroger Pizza Snack Rolls, all of which may be prepared in the same manner.

Optional oil spray is available.Pizza rolls don’t require any additional oil to cook nicely in an air fryer, but the trick to making them extra crispy is to spritz them with olive oil just before air frying (note: avoid using generic ‘cooking spray’ because it might harm the non-stick layer on your air fryer’s inside).Toppings and dipping sauce are included.Pizza rolls are delicious on their own, but they are much better when accompanied by something to dip them in or something spread on top.Toppings such as tomato sauce, tomato salsa, shredded cheese, and sour cream (nacho-style) are good, but much better.

More suggestions can be found in the ‘Serving’ section below.

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Some air fryers advertise that they do not require preheating, however I have found that utilizing a warmed air fryer for meals that cook in a short amount of time (such as most frozen foods) yields far superior results. The second step is to place frozen pizza rolls in an air fryer.

Place the pizza rolls in a single layer on top of the sauce. It is fine if they are touching, but if they are overlapping or stacked up, the cooking time will be longer, and you will need to shake the basket many times during the cooking process to ensure that they cook evenly.Step 3: Fry the pizza rolls in the air fryer.Frozen pizza rolls should be air fried for 5-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.Make frequent checks to ensure that they do not become overcooked.

Step 4: Prepare the dish and enjoy it!That is, as soon as they have cooled down sufficiently to be able to consume!

How long to cook pizza rolls in the air fryer

When making pizza rolls for the first time, it might be difficult to get the cook time just perfect. The actual amount of time required will depend on a number of things, including the power and efficiency of your air fryer type, as well as the number of pizza rolls you are air frying. It is possible that your air fryer, such as the Philips, the Nuwave or the Ninja Foodi, will cook in less than 5 minutes if it is a high-performance model.

A less powerful model will require more time.I would recommend checking on the food frequently during the cooking process starting at roughly 4 minutes. In order to tell whether you have overcooked the pizza rolls, you will notice that they break open while cooking and pour the contents into your air fryer pan.Note what happened (you may print off the recipe card below) and try frying for a minute or two less the next time if it happens again. Please let me know in the comments section below what type of air fryer you have and how long it takes you to air fried frozen pizza rolls until they are perfectly crisp.

Serving

  • Once the pizza rolls are cooked to your taste, serve them with a dipping sauce on the side. Plain tomato sauce or BBQ sauce are my personal favorites, but ranch dressing or sour cream are also excellent choices. You may also attempt the following ideas on how to spice up pizza rolls if you’re stuck for inspiration: Immediately after they have been removed from the air fryer but while they are still hot, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top
  • Bacon chunks or diced pepperoni can be sprinkled on top.
  • Like a side dish, serve them as nachos with chili and shredded cheese on top, as well as tomato salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and so on.
  • Pesto should be drizzled on top.
  • Alternatively, serve on a bun or wrap in a tortilla with cheese and marinara sauce

Remember that when you serve pizza rolls that have just come out of the air fryer, they will be quite hot on the inside, so use caution while biting into them!

Storing and reheating

Any leftover pizza rolls should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consumed within 3 days after preparation.Alternatively, reheat the pizza rolls in the air fryer for approximately 2 minutes, or until heated through. As an alternative, you may reheat them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds on high (but they won’t be as as crispy as they would be if you reheat them in the air fryer).

In terms of reheating frozen pizza rolls, you have several alternatives to select from: microwave, conventional oven, toaster oven, and air fryer. Microwave: Microwaves are ideal for reheating frozen pizza rolls. It all depends on what you have on hand in your kitchen and how long you’re prepared to wait until you want to start eating your snack that you choose to use.

1. Microwave

Cooking your pizza rolls in the microwave is the fastest method available. Microwave-safe plates may be used to heat your mini pizzas by spreading the pizza rolls out in an even layer on a microwave-safe dish. Heat one serving (six rolls) for one minute, or two dishes (12 rolls) for two minutes and 40 seconds to two minutes and 40 seconds.

2. Conventional oven

Preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit is a common technique of cooking pizza rolls, especially when you’re creating a large amount. To reheat frozen pizza rolls in the oven, spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes. You may bake them for 10 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on how many pizza rolls you’re making.

3. Toaster oven

Cooking your pizza rolls in the toaster oven is another quick and convenient technique. Preparing the rolls in a toaster oven follows the same steps as baking them in a conventional oven. Spread the pizza rolls out on the baking sheet of your toaster oven in a single layer and bake for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and bake for 13 to 15 minutes.

  2. Cook for 8 minutes at 380 degrees in an air fryer set to high heat. Full-sized pizza rolls may require a longer cooking time, whilst small pizza rolls may require a shorter cooking time. The cooking time for regular rolls is normally between six and ten minutes, whereas the cooking time for tiny rolls is typically between five and eight minutes.
  3. Halfway through the cooking time, remove the basket from the oven. Remove the basket from the air fryer at the four-minute mark and throw the pizza rolls in the basket. You may just shake the basket to mix up the rolls, or you can use a spatula to turn each roll over individually. If you have finished flipping all of the rolls, place the basket back in the air fryer to complete cooking
  4. allow to cool for two minutes. Due to the highly hot nature of the filling within the pizza rolls, it is essential that you allow the rolls to cool for two minutes before eating them.

Are pizza rolls good in air fryer?

The air fryer is the most efficient method of cooking pizza rolls! The best part is that there is no need for oil and they are ready in minutes! What’s the best part? You’ll be able to tell the difference after only one bite! They’ll be perfectly done when compared to cooking them in the microwave or in the oven.

5 Air Fryer Pizza Rolls Tips & Tricks

In the air fryer, you can make frozen pizza rolls in no time at all! These easy techniques and methods will have you enjoying crispy pizza pieces in no time at all.

1. Skip the oil.

Designed to crisp up on its own, the crust on the outside of the pizza rolls is meant to be eaten raw. Because of this, there is no need to use any oil or nonstick cooking spray. Simply place the pizza rolls in the basket and turn the oven on to bake them.

2. Don’t overcook.

A little trial and error may be required to determine the optimal cooking time for your pizza rolls. However, it’s critical not to overcook your pizza rolls when making them. It’s possible that they will explode if they are overdone, forcing the contents to spill out of the sides.

3. Keep the pizza rolls from touching in the air fryer basket.

Overcrowding your air fryer basket can result in uneven cooking. Ensure that the pizza rolls are evenly distributed in the basket and that none of them are touching. Instead of stacking your rolls on top of each other in the air fryer, it is preferable to cook them in batches.

4. Preheat the air fryer.

While preheating is not strictly essential, it does help to shorten the cooking time after the pizza rolls are placed inside the oven. Allowing the air fryer to heat up for a few minutes before using it will result in the pizza rolls needing less time in the air fryer and cooking more evenly.

5. Don’t forget: Let them cool!

The pizza rolls should be allowed to rest for at least two minutes before eating them, regardless of the method you use to prepare them. This will allow the filling time to cool, preventing you from getting a scorching sensation in your mouth afterward. A frozen pizza roll may be prepared in a matter of minutes in an air fryer!

Troubleshooting

If you’re just learning how to make pizza rolls in an air fryer for the first time, don’t be concerned if they don’t turn out perfectly the first time.Different brands may also cook in a slightly different manner from one another. You may need to vary the cooking time a little bit depending on the size and content of the ravioli.

They are somewhat overdone if, for example, you notice that the filling has popped (which happens frequently in the microwave). If you want to try it again, reduce the temperature a little bit.So indulge in them as a fast snack or share them with your friends and family for a memorable movie night at home!

Perfectly Cooked Pizza Rolls in the Air Fryer

It’s the quickest and most convenient method to make delightfully crispy pizza rolls with cheesy, melty centers inside the air fryer. Once we started making our pizza rolls in the air fryer, we never went back to the old-fashioned manner of making them for my family. It’s really simple and quick.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It is possible to cook pizza rolls in the air fryer and have them come out flawlessly crispy on the exterior while remaining delightfully melty and hot on the inside. Cooking them in the oven produces far better outcomes than cooking them in the microwave. It’s also quicker than using the oven, and it doesn’t require you to heat up the entire kitchen
  • air frying is simple and quick to perform! In order to cook the food that has been frozen, you may just split open the box or bag and drop the pizza rolls into a large mixing bowl! When you (or your children) just want a snack or something fast to eat, this is the perfect solution.
  • The air fryer is also excellent for warming any leftovers that you may have from other meals. Preheat the air fryer to 380° Fahrenheit and reheat the leftovers for 2 minutes, or until they’re warmed through and crisp once more, before serving. They’re best when they’re hot out of the oven, but they’re also wonderful reheated.

Key Ingredients

Pizza Rolls — This approach is effective for any brand and any kind of pizza rolls, even frozen pizza rolls. In my house, we love Annie’s Pizza Poppers and Amy’s Pizza Snacks, but you can certainly substitute Totino’s Pizza Rolls or even the Michelina’s version of these snacks.Keep in mind that if you use tiny pizza rolls, you will most likely not need to cook them for as long, so keep that in mind!

Adding a dipping sauce to your pizza roll is completely optional, but it is a simple way to elevate your pizza roll experience. If you normally enjoy ranch dressing on your pizza, you must try it on your pizza buns as well.In addition to pizza sauce, you may create a fast melted garlic butter sauce to serve with the chicken.Of course, pizza rolls are delicious on their own, so feel free to omit the sauce altogether.

Chef’s Tips

  • Don’t stuff too much food into the air fryer basket! If you stuff too many pizza rolls into the oven at the same time, the air will be unable to circulate properly. The pizza rolls will not cook evenly if the air cannot flow around them. Work in batches as required
  • if you have a history of food adhering to your air fryer basket, you may spray the basket with an air fryer-safe spray oil before adding the pizza rolls to avoid this problem. Make sure to get one that is safe to use with an air fryer. Cooking sprays in aerosol form might cause harm to the coating of the basket. More a small spritz of oil on the top of the pizza rolls can help them to become even crispier in the end! However, I honestly didn’t feel myself in need of it at all. My pizza rolls turned out crispy even though I didn’t use any oil. To ensure that the pizza rolls cook evenly during the cooking time, remove the air fryer basket midway through the cooking time and give it a nice shaking. This also assists in keeping the pizza rolls from sticking to the basket. If you’re using an air fryer with racks, you’ll want to rotate the racks instead
  • otherwise, you’ll want to flip the food over.
  • The pizza rolls in the air fryer have exploded? That indicates that they were cooked for an excessive amount of time! Next time, shorten the cooking time by a minute or two to save time. Alternatively, you might reduce the temperature to 370° Fahrenheit while maintaining the same cooking time. Remember that every air fryer is different, so be sure to tailor this recipe to your individual device.
