REVIEW: Dairy Queen M&M’s Treatzza Pizza

Dairy Queen’s Treatzza Pizza, which debuted in the mid-1990s, was one of those decades-defining consumer experiences – a la the Reebok Pump sneakers and the Nickelodeon Time Blaster Alarm Clock – that seemed to be experienced by everyone but me back in the day.
They did an excellent job of showing why the $6.99 delicacy was more than a fast food novelty — it was actually advertised as edible pop culture and digestible detritus in the television advertisements.
Having missed out on this was comparable to losing out on Yikes!
pencils and Pop-Qwiz popcorn — it was completely inexcusable.
Because I had never tasted the Treatzza when I was younger, I believed I would never find out if it lived up to all of the hype.
As a result, I was overjoyed when I learned that the long-discontinued product would be returning.

Even today, I’m not sure how long the Treatzza (which was available in four different varieties – more on that in a moment) was on the market for purchase.
Despite the fact that some sites claim the product was still available as late as 2008, I don’t recall seeing it on the shelves in my neck of the woods for at least the past decade.
While I cannot comment on how the relaunched Treatzza compares to the original in terms of flavor, it certainly passes the visual test — this item appears to have miraculously emerged from a 1995 sales circular advertisement.
The Treatzza is available in four variations, just as it was in the olden days: one topped with Heath bar chunks, one topped with Reese’s cups, a ″Choco-Brownie,″ and – my personal favorite – one sprinkled with diced M&M’s.

The ice cream in the featured version features a fudge cookie crunch foundation, vanilla soft serve as the ″sauce,″ and is finished with a thin layer of dark chocolate drizzle.Due to the fact that the pie is divided into eight reasonably uniform slices, it can easily be shared between two people or used to make fast snacks for at least four people.Naturally, the veil of nostalgia might cloud my judgment, but regardless of its nostalgic allure, this thing is a treat to see.We’ve all had brownies with ice cream on top before, but the Treatzza is a completely new sort of treat altogether.The cookie, the ice cream, the fudge, and the M&M’s all come together to form a wonderful singularity.

Although it appears to be nothing more than an open-faced ice cream sandwich on the surface, the combination of all the components gels into a wonderful, congealed symphony.
It’s delicious, it’s satisfying, and I swear eating it instantly took my taste senses back to the DQ of my childhood, around the opening night of Batman Forever, to which I was transported.
The fact that it’s nothing more than a large frozen cookie with a whole M&M’s Blizzard strewn across the top is what I think makes it so gorgeous.
Given the $10 price point and (probably) minimal customer demand – not to mention the fact that it takes up a lot of room in the freezer – there’s no chance this product will be available for more than a few months.

All I can advise is to take advantage of the situation while you still have the opportunity – unless you want to wait until 2037 to have a second shot.

The downside is that the $10 price tag is inflationary.Some consumers may find the cookie crust to be a little too difficult to chew for their tastes.Was wondering if or not this will move us one step closer to the resurrected Dunkaroos and/or the return of Hootie and the Blowfish.

While Dairy Queen is best known for its classic Blizzard, the dessert business provides plenty of other wonderful sweet delights.
According to The Daily Meal, Dairy Queen is reviving two of its legendary desserts from the 1990s as part of its latest menu expansion.
The treats include Treatzza Pizza and Misty Slush, both of which were popular in the 1990s.
Announcing the Treatzza Pizza’s return on its Facebook and Instagram accounts, Dairy Queen detailed how the treat includes a fudge crunch crust, DQ soft serve, a candy topping, and four flavor possibilities for the dessert pizza itself.
Choco Brownie, Reese’s, M&M, and Heath are the four varieties that are being offered, according to The Daily Meal.

It’s the perfect no-bake summer treat, and this Frozen Ice Cream Dessert Pizza is it! PIN IT TO REFER TO LATER I used to really enjoy those Treatzza Pizzas from Dairy Queen when I was a kid. However, when I was writing this essay, I began to wonder if any of my American friends had ever heard of Treatzza Pizzas. I attempted to search the DQ web sites in both Canada and the United States, but I was unsuccessful on the American website. What a pity it would be if you had to go through life without having your Treatzza Pizza fix! Fortunately, I’ve come up with a Treatzza Pizza recipe that is a close replica. I’m still horrible at naming recipes, and I’ll admit it. If there are any individuals out there who are unfamiliar with what a Treatzza Pizza is, it is a Frozen Ice Cream Dessert Pizza, which is essentially everything wonderful and frosty that you could possibly desire. Let’s get this over with. You are aware of my fondness for pizza. Dessert pizza is also a favorite of mine (have you tried this Nutella Brownie Fruit Pizza?!). The preparation of this dish is really straightforward. It requires no baking at all
the crust is simply crushed Oreos and fudge sauce, and the topping is softened ice cream topped with anything you choose. Using M&M’s, or Peanut Butter Cups, or berries, or anything you like — just make sure it’s not too difficult to eat frozen! If you’re using anything that’s really firm, you’ll want to slice them up so that they’re more manageable bite-size pieces. The following are some of my favorite things: There will be no baking (did I say that? )
It is completely configurable.
Preparation takes no more than 20 minutes and only 4 components.

You can use store-bought ice cream, or you can experiment with any of the ice cream recipes I’ve posted on The Recipe Rebel, such as these: Cookie ‘n’ Cream Ice Cream with Nutella Swirl, Cherry Cheesecake Ice Cream with Nutella Swirl Ice Cream with Coconut Cream Pie. Toss and match as you choose to create your own unique look! Alternatively, prepare a large number of crusts and decorate them with a choice of toppings — these would be ideal for a summer party or barbeque! About 1 300g packet of Oreos
1/2 cup thick hot fudge sauce plus 2 tablespoons
2-3 cups vanilla ice cream or another flavor
2/3 cup M&M’s finely diced

Process the Oreos in a food processor until there are no bits left. 12 cup hot fudge sauce should be added and processed until it comes together, almost like a dough should be formed.
Placing the Oreo mixture into a 12′′ pizza pan (which may be coated with wax paper if preferred) and freezing for 30 minutes
To make the ice cream, place it in a bowl and set it out on the counter for 10 minutes, or until it is somewhat soft and barely spreadable. Take the crust out of the freezer and put it on top of the ice cream
Add the remaining hot fudge and sprinkle with M&M’s to finish it off. Freeze until the mixture is solid. Serve soon after removing from freezer since the ice cream layer is thin and will melt more quickly if left out for a long period of time.

Ice cream made with cream will be exceptionally tasty, but it will melt more rapidly if you use a high-quality cream foundation.
The amount of water in an ice cream determines how quickly it will melt.
In order to save time when serving the pizza, you may use a ″ice milk″ (similar to generic ice cream) or just freeze the pizza before cutting it into pieces and storing it in the freezer until ready to serve so that the slices are ready to grab when needed.
