    Easy Homemade Pizza Rolls Recipe

    • This week, I’ve been immersed in Super Bowl preparations.
    • Nothing extravagant or outlandish is planned for my celebration…
    • I’m simply very into Super Bowl munchies right now!
    • Also a no-brainer when it comes to Game Day fare, pizza is a great option.
    • As a result, I decided to roll up an ordinary slice of bread, stuff it with Johnsonville sausage, and bake it in a pan today.
    1. Crazy good time, and really wonderful.
    2. Pizza that changes form.
    3. It’s something I’m interested in.
    4. As previously said, I included some Johnsonville Sausage to make this dish even more delectable.
    5. I adore a good sausage pie, so it seemed only natural that I would include it into my Pizza Rolls.
    6. It’s quite handy, and it browns in a matter of minutes.

Furthermore, it adds a ton of flavor with no effort on your part.Johnsonville, the world’s leading manufacturer of sausage, is on the hunt for the best recipes to include in their official book of Game Day recipes. To that end, Johnsonville has created The Sausage Dome, a sausage recipe reality show competition in which contestants from all over the country pitch their Game Day grub to six real-life Johnsonville employees, also known as ″The Sausage Six,″ in order to find the best recipes. You can watch the most recent episodes and locate the greatest sausage recipes for your own game day feast by visiting this page.

How to Make Homemade Pizza Rolls in a Skillet

    • The recipe is quite simple.
    • Just be sure to brown your meat first.
    • Allow it to cool for a few minutes after it has been cooked.
    • In my opinion, adding warm sausage to the pizza dough makes it a bit more difficult to wrap up and prevents the pizza dough from ripping as much as it otherwise would.
    • If the dough is closer to room temperature, it will not heat up as you roll it out, and it will be more manageable in all other respects.
    1. assemble your extra garnishes as necessary.
    2. Fresh basil and sliced black olives are tossed with pizza sauce and some crushed red pepper flakes to make a delicious pizza.
    3. Alternatively, you might be more inventive and use various types of cheeses or seasonings!
    4. After that, get a can of pizza dough.
    5. Because the dough has already been formed into a rectangle shape, I find this to be the simplest approach for making this dish.
    6. You may easily use homemade dough or a ball of pizza dough; simply spread it out into a rectangle and bake it as directed on the package.

Sauce should be spread on top, allowing about an inch of space around the edge so that it doesn’t push out when it’s rolled. Then add the cooled sausage to the pan and mix well. After that, there’s cheese…Then there’s the olives and basil…

Make a ″jelly roll″ with the pizza by rolling it up from the long side and cutting it into 8 pieces. You should be prepared for a small mess at this point, but don’t be concerned.Make your best effort and place each piece onto a cast iron pan that has been greased.Preheat the oven to 250°F and bake for 25-30 minutes…Aren’t they a lot of fun?

And then, of course, go to work! These have rapidly become a favorite among the entire family!Print

    1. This will prevent the sauce within the pizza roll from bursting out when it’s baked.

    3. Cooking times are significantly reduced when using a microwave.
    4. Microwave them for 1-2 minutes, depending on the temperature you select, in a single layer on a plate covered with a paper towel.

Defrost the pizza rolls before frying them because frozen pizza rolls are more prone to bursting when they come into touch with hot oil, and they may also burn on the top if they are cooked in hot oil.

    Healthy Alternatives to Pizza Rolls

    • Pizza rolls, which can range in size from dinner-plate-sized calzones to bite-size munchies, are rarely a nutritious supper option.
    • Six commercial bite-sized pizza rolls have 220 calories and 9 grams of fat per serving; a complete restaurant calzone has 940 calories and 32 grams of fat per dish.
    • Rather than ruining your diet when you develop a longing for pizza rolls, consider substituting a healthier option.
    • Without the unnecessary calories and fat, you’ll still receive that wonderful pizza flavor.

    Baked Pizza Wontons

    • Pizza wontons are similar to bite-size pizza rolls, but they’re more better for you because they’re made from vegetables.
    • Approximately twice the size of a standard bite-size pizza roll, each pizza wonton is filled with cheese and sauce.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the filling and spoon a teaspoon into each wonton wrapper.
    • It is simple to prepare a filling consisting of turkey pepperoni, pizza sauce, and fat-free mozzarella.
    • Seal the wontons with water and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes at 375 degrees, or until they are crisp.
    1. Approximately 142 calories and 2.5 grams of fat are contained in a serving size of three baked pizza wontons.
    2. You may freeze them raw and then bake them later, exactly like the commercial bite-size pizza rolls that are available.

    Cabbage Leaf Rolls

    • Pizza filling wrapped in a cabbage leaf is a delicious and nutritious way to enjoy the flavor of pizza rolls without the high calorie, high fat breaded covering.
    • Fill a huge, young cabbage leaf with your favorite pizza ingredients and wrap it with a cabbage leaf.
    • Grilling sauce, cheddar cheese, and shredded, cooked chicken are excellent additions.
    • Wrap the leaves over the filling and bake for eight to ten minutes at 450 degrees, or until the filling is heated throughout.
    • One cabbage leaf stuffed with barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, and chicken has around 197 calories and 6 grams of fat.

    Mini Pizzas

    • As long as you avoid oil and full-fat cheese, as well as serving it in tiny amounts, a mini pizza may serve as a healthy substitute for pizza rolls.
    • Make the crust out of multigrain dough and then cover it with your favorite toppings.
    • Fat-free mozzarella cheese and turkey pepperoni are excellent additions to pizza sauce.
    • Make the crust no bigger than your hand, and limit yourself to one tiny pizza per person.
    • The tiny pizza should be baked for six to eight minutes at 500 degrees, or until the edges are beginning to brown.
    1. A single tiny pizza will have around 188 calories and 8 grams of fat in it, on average.

    Pizza Pita

    • A compact, whole-wheat pita replaces the doughy outside of pizza rolls, resulting in less calories and fat than traditional pizza rolls.
    • Stuff a small pita with your favorite pizza roll contents and bake it for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees, or until it is crisp and golden brown.
    • Reduced-fat sausage, low-fat mozzarella and mushrooms come together to form a simple and nutritious filling for a pizza.
    • Approximately 208 calories and 7 grams of fat are included inside one pizza pita.
    • Skip the cheese on the pizza pita if you want to keep the calories down.

    • If you’re making them for the big game, an after-school snack, or a dinner, these crispy pizza rolls will satisfy everyone’s appetite!
    • Because frozen food has already been prepared, making these frozen pizza rolls is a cinch!
    • You can cook pizza rolls directly from the freezer, eliminating the need to defrost them first.
    • You will like cooking these pizza rolls in the air fryer since the cook time is quick and there is no prep time required.
    1. When they’re through frying, you’ll have delightfully crispy air fryer pizza rolls on your hands.
    2. A few of our other favorite air fryer recipes for quick snacks are Mini Pizza, Tator Tots, French Fries, and Potato Chips, which is our absolute favorite dish of all time.

What you need to make crispy Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

    • Crispy pizza rolls are one of my favorite things, which is why I make them in the air fryer.
    • The majority of my favorite dishes are prepared in an Air Fryer from Cosori.
    • The only other item you’ll need is frozen pizza buns, which you can get from your local supermarket.
    • Pepperoni pizza buns made by Totino’s are my favorite.
    • I normally get the extra big bag, which has around 50 little pizza pockets.
    1. As a result, I only use half of them at a time because we can’t consume that many in one sitting.
    2. This straightforward recipe is so quick to prepare that you can easily create 25 pizza rolls at a time.
    3. And they are completed in less than 15 minutes from beginning to end.

How to air fry pizza rolls

    • Using an air fryer, you can make these crispy pizza rolls in minutes. To get started, place the rolls in the basket. 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 6-8 minutes is a good temperature for baking. It’s important to shake the basket around the 4 minute mark, which is approximately halfway through the cooking time. Crispy on all sides, with a golden finish, is what you’re looking for. Keep in mind that not all deep fryers are created equal, and that cooking times may vary. If they aren’t golden and crispy when done, you can cook them for another one or two minutes. The pizza rolls should be removed from the air fryer when they have finished cooking and allowed to cool for a few minutes. Take caution while biting into the pizza since the sauce is really spicy. Serve with additional pizza sauce on the side for dipping or sprinkle with mozzarella cheese before serving. Take note that if you haven’t tried these mini pizza pockets before, there are many different kinds of rolls to choose from. Fill them with your favorite pizza toppings and you’re ready to go!
    • This recipe calls for Pepperoni Pizza Rolls, which I used.
    • Make certain that they are placed in a single layer in the basket while you are setting them in the oven so that they will be crispy when they are through cooking.

    FAQ’s:

Do I need to spray the basket or use parchment paper?

Despite the fact that I fried them directly in the air fryer basket, they didn’t stick or burn. I would not recommend spraying the rolls with cooking spray since it may alter the flavor of the rolls. If you do not have a nonstick basket, you may use a pastry brush to add a little coating of olive oil to the pan before cooking it in it. In addition, I did not preheat the air fryer.

Can I cook pizza rolls in the air fryer if they are frozen?

Yes! Air frying frozen pizza rolls will require an additional 2-3 minutes of cooking time compared to traditional methods.

What can I eat with pizza rolls?

These crispy pizza rolls are a great after-school snack, or they may be served to a large group of people. I serve them with my favorite dipping sauce, such as pizza sauce, on the side. They are also delicious when eaten simply. Ranch dressing, salsa, and cheese dip are some of the other popular options.

What do I do with leftover pizza rolls?

    • Leftover rolls can be kept in an airtight container for up to five days after baking. Grilled Cheese, Hot Pockets, Hamburgers, Hasselback Potatoes, Ribeye Steak, Cake Mix Cookies, and more air fryer recipes are available here.

Can You Microwave Totino’s Pizza? 6 Things You Should Know

    • When it comes to making pizza, there are several variations to choose from.
    • You may get it delivered from a pizza restaurant, prepare it at home with fresh ingredients, or even microwave frozen pizzas in the microwave.
    • People often cringe at the thought of microwaving pizza, but is it really that awful for the environment?
    • Consequently, I decided to put Totino’s pizzas through their paces and evaluate how they stack up against handmade and delivery options.
    • Here’s what I discovered.

    Can You Microwave Totino’s Pizza?

    • Totino’s Pizza sells a variety of various items under the ″Totino’s″ brand name, including pizza.
    • Pizza rolls, tiny snack nibbles, party pizza, party pizza multi-packs, and pizza stuffers are some of the options available.
    • The manufacturer has explicitly specified that you may cook little snack pieces, pizza rolls, and pizza stuffers in the microwave, which is in accordance with industry standards.
    • For party pizzas and party pizza multi-packs, Totino’s exclusively suggests baking them in the oven or using a toaster oven as a method of preparation.
    • When most people pose the question, ″Can I microwave Totino’s Pizza?″ they mean ″Can I microwave Totino’s Pizza?″ I’m assuming that they’re referring to pizza for a get-together.
    1. The simple answer is that you can microwave Totino’s party pizzas, but you should be aware that the quality will suffer as a result.
    2. I discovered that microwaving this product rendered the crust mushy, however this does not necessarily imply that the end result is unpalatable.
    3. However, the flavor is still very delicious, and depending on how you microwave it, there are a few tactics you can attempt to help keep the crust’s crispness intact.

Why Do Microwaves Make Food Soggy?

    • There is a scientific explanation why using a microwave to prepare Totino’s party pizzas is not the greatest option.
    • While cooking anything in the microwave, electromagnetic radiation causes water molecules in the meal to vibrate quickly, causing the food to become more flavorful.
    • This results in friction, and friction results in heat, which warms up the meal more.
    • Water molecules travel at an increasing rate, resulting in the formation of steam.
    • This steam attempts to escape, but it is unable to do so.
    1. Eventually, because the moisture or steam is trapped within the microwave, it begins to accumulate, and the only way to get rid of it is to return it to the cooking surface.
    2. This is the cause of your meal being mushy.
    3. The bottom line is that, when you cook food in the microwave, it is not truly cooking from the outside in as when you cook food in an oven with a convection setting; rather, it is more like steaming from the inside out.
    4. A normal oven or a convection oven generates heat from the outside, which is subsequently transmitted to the inside of the oven.
    5. This permits the food to get crispy and brown on the outside while being evenly cooked on the inside of the dish.
    6. And don’t be concerned about the electromagnetic radiation component if it makes you uncomfortable.

Microwave radiation is absolutely non-hazardous to human health. It’s no different from the light that your remote control produces to encourage you to turn on the television.

    Microwave Directions for Totino’s Pizza

We’re going to learn how to make several Totino’s Pizza items right now, so stay tuned. Microwave ovens with a 1000-watt power output were utilized. The wattage of your microwave may vary, resulting in a variation in cooking times. To ensure your pizza is done properly, check it after a minute or two and add extra time if necessary. Let’s start with the mini-snack-bites that are available.

Totino’s Mini Snack Bites Microwave Instructions

When it comes to microwaving the little snack bits, you have two alternatives. The use of an oven is one alternative, while the use of a microwave is another. Both strategies provide outcomes that are comparable.

    1. Place 13 snack nibbles on a microwavable dish and microwave for 30 seconds.
    2. Make sure they’re all in a single layer so that they cook at the same rate.
    3. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 10 seconds
    4. remove and set aside.
    5. Allow for 2 minutes of cooking time in the microwave.
    6. Check to see whether the bits are still hot and crispy after a few minutes. When you bite into the filling, exercise caution since the temperature of the filling will be incredibly high. If they require more time, microwave them in 15-second increments until they attain the desired crispiness.

    Totino’s Pizza Rolls Microwave Instructions

Totino’s advises four distinct cooking methods for its pizza rolls: the oven, the toaster oven, the microwave, and the air fryer, among others. However, for the sake of this post, we will just look at the microwave instructions themselves.

    1. Place the pizza rolls in a single layer on a microwavable tray
    2. microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds if you are microwaving up to 6 pizza rolls at once. Microwave for 2 minutes if you’re cooking up to 12 rolls at a time. Regardless matter how many rolls you are microwaving, they must all be done on high power.
    3. Once all of your pizza rolls have been microwaved, remove them from the microwave and allow them to sit for 2 minutes to help distribute the heat more evenly throughout the pizza rolls. Take cautious when you take your first bite since the insides will be really hot
    4. It is possible to reheat pizza rolls in the microwave for 15 seconds if you believe they are not hot enough.

    Totino’s Pizza Stuffers Microwave Instructions

Totino’s exclusively makes pizza stuffers that can be heated in the microwave. If you’re going to microwave them, make sure to follow these cooking directions.

    1. Make sure you remove the pizza stuffer from its container and set it on a microwave-safe dish
    2. If you only want to microwave one pizza stuffer, microwave it on high for one minute until it is hot. Alternatively, if you wish to microwave two pizza stuffers at the same time, microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds on the other side of the pan. Turn them over and microwave on high for a further 1 minute and 30 seconds, or until done.
    3. Allow the pizza stuffers to stand in the microwave for 2 minutes after they have been microwaved. Keep an eye on them because they will be quite hot
    4. Put them back in the microwave for 10-15 seconds at a time until they reach the temperature you wish if you believe your pizza stuffers are not hot enough after following the previous instructions:

    Totino’s Party Pizza Microwave Instructions

    • Always remember that Totino’s does not condone or approve any microwaving procedure that is not listed on their official web page.
    • Everything I’m going to offer in the next portion of this post is based on my own experiments as well as test results that I’ve gleaned from forums and other online communities.
    • If you wish to microwave your party pizza according to the instructions I’m going to provide you, please use your own judgment and caution.
    • Put yourself in danger and only if you’re comfortable with the consequences.
    • There are just two distinct cooking methods recommended on Totino’s website for their party pizzas: baking them in the oven or toasting them in the toaster oven.
    1. This is due to the reason that I have previously said above: they do not promote microwave cooking.
    2. So the question shouldn’t be ″can you microwave Totino’s Pizza?″ but rather ″should you microwave Totino’s Pizza?″ To cook your Totino’s party pizza in the microwave is fine if you just need something quick and warm to eat and don’t mind having a soggy crust on your pizza.
    3. In fact, many people choose to microwave their party pizzas and eat them like a burrito instead of cutting them into slices.
    4. Check out this YouTube video, in which one man microwaves his Totino’s pizza and then eats the resultant concoction as if it were a burrito: Take your party pizza out of the box and place it on a microwavable plate, then microwave it for 3 to 4 minutes, and you’re done.
    5. To microwave your party pizza, follow the instructions in the video above.
    6. If your pizza is frozen, you’ll need to thaw it first before you can cook it.

Allowing it to thaw on the counter for an hour or so would enough.Alternatively, you may microwave it on a defrost setting or until it is no longer frozen.

How to Microwave Totino’s Party Pizza Without It Getting Soggy

    • The good news is that after searching through various sources and experimenting with various methods, I discovered that there are only a few methods that will allow you to microwave a Totino’s party pizza while still maintaining a relatively crispy crust, albeit not as crisp as it would be if you were baking or toasting it.
    • The method I used was a combination of baking and toasting.
    • Here are a few of the approaches that I’ve come across.

    1. Putting a Cup Of Water in The Microwave

    • The first way that I will show to you is arguably the simplest and most straightforward, but it is also the most effective and efficient.
    • All you have to do is place a mug of tap water next to the pizza in the microwave and then heat it in brief bursts until it is hot enough.
    • The ideal choice is a Corelle or Pyrex mug since these materials can withstand the high temperatures involved.
    • Avoid using a stoneware mug since it will become extremely hot and you may run the risk of burning yourself.
    • For safety reasons, you should not cook your pizza with the cup of water in it for an extended period of time, since doing so can raise the water to a boil and flood your microwave with water vapor, which may sog the crust.
    1. Slice the pizza into four pieces before microwaving it, and then cook it in 35-45-second intervals after each slice.
    2. Take your pizza out of the microwave between intervals and rotate each slice so that the outer section facing the microwave wall is rotated to face the centre of the oven.
    3. Reheat for another 35-45 seconds and repeat until your pizza has reached the desired temperature for you.
    4. This article from Science Notes may interest you if you are interested in learning more about why microwaving a pizza with a cup of water next to it helps to retain the texture of the pizza’s crust (1).

    2. Using Stove First and Then Microwaving

    • Many people who wish to cook frozen food but do not have access to an oven choose this dual cooking approach, which is also fairly popular.
    • To begin, thaw the pizza in the microwave on the defrost option for 2 to 3 minutes on high power.
    • In the meantime, warm a big cast-iron pan over medium heat on the stovetop until hot.
    • Ideally, you want the pan to be heated, but not scorching hot.
    • Oil should be sprayed or brushed on to the cast-iron pan to prevent the pizza from sticking to the pan.
    1. Then, remove the microwaved pizza from the microwave and place it on the prepared pan for a few minutes to finish cooking it off.
    2. The crust will become caramelized as a result of this.
    3. You may remove the pizza from the pan and reheat it in the microwave once the crust has caramelized and the pie has gotten a little stiff again.
    4. Continue to microwave the pizza for another 2 to 3 minutes to allow the toppings to cook and the cheese to melt.
    5. You will note that it is substantially more crisp than if you microwaved it without first heating it on the stove, which is the recommended approach.

    3. Using a Crisper Pan

    • In order to crisp up your Totino’s party pizza in the microwave, the final and most tried way is to use a crisper pan or a crisper tray, which is probably the most effective approach.
    • It is particularly intended to keep the outside of the pizza crispy by heating the pizza from the bottom of the pan in the microwave.
    • If your microwave has a crisp option, there’s a good possibility that it also includes a crisper pan with it.
    • If it does not, you may purchase a crisp setting separately from your local shop or online, which you can use even if your microwave does not have a crisp option.
    • A crisper tray and a microwave are used to prepare a Totino’s party pizza, and the instructions are provided below for your convenience.
    1. Microwave your frozen Totino’s party pizza on the defrost setting for 2 to 3 minutes on high power to thaw it. Remove it from the equation
    2. Preheat the crisper tray in the microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, or until it is hot.
    3. Remove the baking tray from the microwave and spray it with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
    4. Place your Totino’s party pizza on the crisper tray in a gentle manner.
    5. Placing the tray in the microwave and cooking it on high for 2 to 4 minutes should do the trick.

Can You Store Leftover Totino’s Pizza?

    • It is possible to store leftover Totino’s party pizza in either the refrigerator or the freezer.
    • Just be aware that storing leftover frozen pizza, regardless
