Add the tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic, sugar, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and oregano to a large mixing bowl and mix well.Allow for 45 minutes of simmering time, stirring occasionally.Cook for another 15 minutes once you’ve added the cinnamon stick.The bay leaf and cinnamon stick should be removed.If you want a smooth sauce, purée the ingredients in a blender.

Allow time for the sauce to cool.Cook the sausage in a pan over medium-high heat until it is browned.When the sausage is done, take it from the pan with a slotted spoon and set it aside to drain on paper towels.

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius).
  2. Place the dough on a work surface that has been lightly floured.
  3. Using a knife, cut the dough in two.
  4. One half of the dough should be rolled out to a 16-inch circle.
  5. Place the dough circle in the bottom of a deep dish pizza pan or skillet that has a 14-inch diameter.

Place the sausage on top of the dough in an even layer.Add the mozzarella, mushrooms, and bell peppers to the top of the pizza.The leftover dough should be rolled out into a 16-inch round.Position it over the contents and bind the edges together by rolling them inward to make a ring around the edge.

  1. Pour the sauce over the top crust and spread evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the Parmesan and Romano cheeses on top in an equal layer.
  3. Placing the pizza in the oven and baking it for 40 minutes at 450 degrees F is recommended.
  4. It is okay if the top crust puffs up throughout the baking process; simply poke it with a toothpick or skewer to let the steam out.
  1. Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes before cutting and serving.

It would have been great if my 3-year-old had used the microwave instead of the stove.Seriously, I believe this was the most disgusting ″meal″ we have ever had the misfortune of putting into our mouths and stomachs.Also, we used to consume fast food, which isn’t really food in the first place.The generous star rating here was most obviously not influenced by the inedible slop that was put on plates, which is making me physically nauseated just thinking about it as I type this.

My husband and I have gone through this location several times on long road journeys out of the Chicago suburbs and all the way up to Wisconsin’s Northwoods.After hearing about it again, we decided to look it up online on Yelp, where we were astonished to see such a high star rating on so many reviews, which is typically a positive indicator.In the midst of being fatigued, hungry, and dehydrated after our lengthy road journey, we decided to give them a go and then get back on the road to return home.

In the woods, the inside is decorated in a festive cabin style, which we found to be charming and unique.After grinding our way through the peanut shells to our table, we were able to take our seats.We were both quite hungry, so we decided to start with an appetizer, which turned out to be these small taco things.We weren’t expecting much, just some meal as soon as possible while our pizza was being prepared.

Yes, these items elevate Applebee’s Freezer-to-Microwave-to-Plate approach to a higher level of sophistication.They were just bad!They were a nasty explosion of heartburn, vomit in your mouth, and freezer burn at one point, and they were processed to the point of no return.As a result, we returned to shelling peanuts, which was a safer choice for nourishing our ravenous bodies.WARNING: If you are allergic to nuts in any way, please do not attempt to enter this establishment!
