Review: Pizza Hut – Blake’s Smokehouse BBQ Pizza
Pizza Hut’s new Blake’s Smokehouse BBQ Pizza is a hand-tossed pizza with toasted cheddar cheese on the end crust and honey barbecue sauce in place of traditional pizza sauce on the bottom crust.Bacon, ham, and minced pig bits are strewn across the top.The pizza was named after the country music star Blake Shelton, who was the inspiration for it.
- I got a big for $11 and a medium for $8.
- Although I anticipated that the Smokehouse BBQ would be quite salty due to the large amount of pork used, the various meats, notably the ham and bacon, were actually substantially less salty than I had anticipated.
- The mix of the three different types of pork resulted in a very beefy pizza.
- The bacon was just a little crunchy and gently smokey, and the ham had a wonderful, somewhat sweet flavor to balance off the savory.
The ground pork didn’t look particularly appetizing, and it tasted porky and greasy. There was a bit of a slick, greasy coating on the top of the pizza as a result of it and the bacon, which was more prominent than the regular mozzarella grease.Using a thin coating of honey barbecue sauce under the cheese, the sauce was applied with care and precision. When I initially saw the pizza, I was concerned that they had neglected to include the barbecue sauce by accident, but it turned out that they had not done so.Although it had a pleasing honeyed sweetness to it, it lacked the smokey and acidic undertones that made it stand out.It was a good match for the meats.
- However, the cheddar on the end crust did not have nearly the same flavor as the parmesan on Pizza Hut’s latest Garlic Parmesan Pizzas, but it did provide a great crunch and a distinct cheddar flavor.
- It tasted a lot like a freshly toasted or baked cheddar breadstick, to be honest.
- Overall, Pizza Hut’s Smokehouse BBQ Pizza was decent, albeit not nearly as fantastic as the Garlic Parmesan Pizzas that came before it (and that were also going).
- Despite the fact that the meats weren’t overly salty, they could have used a little more flavor.
The sauce was light yet tasty. The toasted cheddar end crust was a particular favorite of mine.Nutritional Information for the Large Blake’s Smokehouse BBQ Cheddar Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut.1 slice is the recommended serving size.

- According to Gildenblatt, ″I’m the legal owner, but my fiancée instructs me what to do every minute of the day.″ ″We are a 100 percent family-owned and run business.″ The group includes me, my fiancée, a younger brother, two other younger sisters, and another younger sister, who is really 10 years old who designed our Evans little pizza for the kids’ menu.″ In Gildenblatt’s case, it all started with his family’s advertising agency.
- His fiancée met him there, and it was also there that the idea of building a café where others could enjoy their goods was first conceived.
- The grandpa in question, who passed away around three months ago, had worked in the advertising industry his whole life, according to the son.
″He had a handful of investments, and he expressed a desire for his family to build a venue where he could ″hang up his hat and watch people enjoy our goods,″ as he had previously done business over the phone. As a result, we discovered a little pizza store in our hometown.″ Gildenblatt and his family began the process of establishing their new company right there and right then. The family utilized trial and error to develop their most successful crust – the Texas style crust – which they learned to make entirely from YouTube videos. With sauce running all the way to the edge of the dough, it is folded over and smeared with garlic butter in the traditional New York thin-style crust.″It was merely a practice session the first day we were here,″ Gildenblatt explained.″We had no clue what we were getting ourselves into, and my father says, ‘Hey son, toss me a pizza pie.’″ As a result, I tossed out a pie.
- He slathered on the sauce and, towards the end, folded the sides over.
- We baked it in the oven and then removed it from the oven.
- ‘That’s the nature of the business,’ I said.
- ‘That crust is just fantastic.’″ Gildenblatt also brought on board a professional chef from Brazil, Vinicius Fernandes, to assist him in taking the concept to the next level.
″Because he’s classically educated in pizza, he’s really increased his understanding of what we do here,″ Gildenblatt said.″I was aware of the fundamentals, but Vini came in and demonstrated how to execute what we want to do professionally.″ As of right now, the restaurant offers both New York and Texas-style crusts, which may be ordered either by the slice or the full pie.In addition, the restaurant features a BYOB policy, which allows patrons to bring their own beverages inside the establishment. There are options for dine-in, delivery, and takeaway.
Gildenblatt says he has learnt a lot in the year since the restaurant’s launch and that he is continuing to build the business despite a number of hurdles. The experience had been ″frightening, but also enjoyable,″ he added. It’s very great to watch the whole family working together,″ says the author.Pizza should be enjoyed with family and friends, and pizza brings people together in a positive way.

BBQ Chicken Pizza – Damn Delicious
Using leftover rotisserie chicken and homemade pizza dough (or store-bought), you can whip up the finest (and fastest) meal ever in no time! The DD household has been churning out a large number of pizzas since the football season has gotten underway. And it’s been a godsend to have an abundance of this pizza dough in our freezer at all times.
- With that in mind, this BBQ pizza came up in record time, especially considering that we had some leftover rotisserie chicken to use up as well.
- However, if you don’t have any homemade pizza dough on hand, store-bought pizza dough would work just as well.
- Furthermore, if you have a pizza stone, I highly recommend that you use it!
- However, the most essential thing to remember is that you should use your absolute favorite BBQ sauce in order to achieve the greatest outcomes.
Each and every cheese bite will need to be just right — the precise balance of acidic and sweet flavors.

For the base
- One tablespoon of quick yeast
- one teaspoon of salt
- one tbsp rapeseed oil, with additional for greasing
- 250g wholemeal flour, plus a little extra to make a kneading bowl (if required)
For the topping
- A pack of three peppers
- 1 big onion
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 large skinless chicken breast fillet (about 225g), diced
- 175g baby plum tomatoes, quartered
- 50g Applewood smoked cheese, grated
- 175g baby plum tomatoes, quartered
- STEP 1Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius/200 degrees Celsius fan/gas 7. Place the flour in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, or in a large mixing basin. Combine the yeast, salt, oil, and 200ml warm water in a large mixing bowl until a very soft dough is formed. Knead for approximately 5 minutes in a food processor, or for about 10 minutes by hand if you’re preparing it by hand instead of using a food processor. Even when the dough is sticky, avoid adding too much additional flour. While you are halving and slicing the peppers and onions, leave the mixture in the dish covered with a tea towel. The dough does not have to be proofed for a set amount of time
- simply let it to rest while you prepare the topping.
- Cook the peppers and onions for 15 minutes at 400°F, then stir them with the oil and fennel seeds to coat. Mix together the barbecue sauce and tomato purée with 5 tablespoons water while waiting for the barbecue sauce to cook.
- STEP 3 Remove the dough from the bowl and push it onto the bottom and up the sides of a 25x35cm Swiss roll pan that has been lightly greased. You shouldn’t knead the dough at first because else it will become too elastic and will continue to shrink back. The chicken should be brushed with two-thirds of the barbecue sauce mixture, followed by the remaining, which should be mixed thoroughly to coat the chicken.
- STEP 4 Remove the roasted pepper mixture from the oven and distribute it over the top of the pizza crust. Distribute the tomatoes on top, then spoon over the barbecued chicken in a uniform layer. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Serve with a salad or a nutritious coleslaw to round it off.

The 5 Key BBQ Chicken Pizza Ingredients
- If you’ve ever searched up BBQ chicken pizza recipes before—and given that you’re here, it’s safe to assume that you have—you’ll note that almost all of them ask for the same BBQ chicken pizza toppings! Why? Because almost everyone is producing their own version of the aforementioned CPK BBQ chicken pizza, which has been ingrained in our collective memory since infancy. The toppings are really basic, and you can get away with using store-bought ingredients for the most part! This means that this pizza recipe couldn’t be much simpler and that it comes together in record time. Everything you’ll need to create it is listed below: Dough for pizza! Even though we’ve published this information previously, it’s so valuable that it’s worth repeating!. While we strongly encourage you to make your own pizza dough if doing so is something you enjoy doing, most pizza shops will just offer you a ball of dough. It’s normally $3-$4 and it’ll be fresh and excellent, with little to no effort on your part. Additionally, you may pick up a piece of cheese when you pick up the dough (which is always a treat). You’ll need two types of cheese for this pizza. Mozzarella, for that traditional, melty deliciousness that all pizzas must have in order to be considered complete. Second, smoked gouda is a must-have! That’s right, a curveball! To stand up to the powerful tastes of the BBQ sauce and caramelized onions, you’ll want that smoky richness to be there. If you want to go all out with the spicy ingredients of this BBQ chicken pizza, you could also use pepper jack cheese. Chicken! Chicken! Our perfectly poached chicken would be great, but whatever leftover chicken you have on hand would do just well.
- BBQ sauce, of course! You may use store-bought BBQ sauce, or you can create your own using these BBQ chicken thighs as inspiration. The perfect combination of sweet, tart, and a bit sticky would be perfect.
- Red onions that have been caramelized. With this TMP update, you can enjoy the iconic BBQ chicken pizza toppings in a whole new way! Most BBQ chicken pizza recipes call for fresh red onions, but we take things a step further by caramelizing the red onions before using them. Yes, it does take some time. Yes, that is completely worthwhile
