    • however, this is not recommended.

Despite the fact that they are popular pantry products, they are optional. Only the three items listed above are definitely required.

How To Make Cauliflower Pizza Crust

With step-by-step images and information about the process, this section demonstrates how to produce keto cauliflower pizza dough from scratch. See the recipe card at the bottom of this page for complete instructions. Cauliflower is cooked in rice. Crush cauliflower florets until they are the consistency of rice in a food processor until they are evenly distributed.

Cauliflower rice cooked in a stir-fry style. This step is essential for creating the greatest cauliflower pizza crust since stir frying eliminates extra moisture, ensuring that the crust does not crumble when baked. Cook the cauliflower until it’s extremely soft and dry, about 30 minutes total.

    • Squeeze the cauliflower if you want to go the extra mile.
    • Place the riced cauliflower in a clean dish towel over the sink and squeeze until it is completely dry and clumpy.
    • (Optional) As a result, you will not get as much moisture out as you would after steaming since the stir-frying process actually assists in the evaporation of part of the moisture.
    • Nonetheless, even though it requires more effort, you should drain the water if you are creating a huge pizza.
    • IMPORTANT: Squeezing is advised for a large pizza, but it is not necessary if you are making two little pizzas. According to the previous paragraph, I was rather thrilled about the prospect of creating a simple cauliflower pizza crust recipe that didn’t involve any squeezing. I put it to the test multiple times, and it’s safe to say that the most of them failed. The stir-frying technique made all of the difference in the world. Having said that, squeezing the crust will still result in a firmer crust overall. This is required if you are making a single large pizza
    • but, if you are splitting the dough into two smaller crusts, you may get away with skipping it. Binders should be mixed together. In a large mixing basin, whisk together the eggs and parmesan cheese until well combined. Season with spices, if desired.
    • Cauliflower should be included. Combine the cauliflower with the egg and cheese mixture in a large mixing basin. Press and knead the cauliflower mixture as needed, using a spatula or your hands, to ensure that it is thoroughly mixed
    • Make a crust. Place one sheet of parchment paper on top of either a pizza peel (if you’ll be sliding the crust onto a pizza stone – highly recommended!) or a baking sheet and spread the keto cauliflower crust into a thin layer that’s approximately 1/4 inch thick
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F. The dough should be dry and firm with golden brown edges when it’s done baking. Allow the crust to cool for 10 minutes before adding the toppings
    • finish the pizza by adding the toppings. Make your own handmade cauliflower pizza dough and top it with your favorite toppings (see suggestions below!).

Bake once more. Once again, transfer the pizza directly to the pizza stone (no need for parchment paper this time) and bake until the crust is golden brown. The second time around, it takes only a few minutes, just long enough to melt the cheese. For a browned cheese crust, you may finish the pizza by placing it under the broiler for a couple of minutes towards the end of the cooking time.

Tips For The Best Cauliflower Pizza Crust

    • Cook the cauliflower in a hot skillet until it is very tender. In contrast to typical cauliflower rice, you don’t want crisp-tender cauliflower in this dish
    • instead, you want it to be as soft as you can. This will ensure that the finished crust has the greatest texture possible.
    • Depending on your requirements, you can squeeze or not squeeze the cauliflower rice. You may use the squeeze to make one giant cauliflower pizza, or you can skip this step and make two tiny ones instead.
    • Combine all of the ingredients well. This is critical for achieving a consistent result.
    • Cook the cauliflower crust on a pizza stone until golden brown. A crispy keto cauliflower pizza crust is achieved with the use of this technique! Just be sure to put it in the oven before the oven begins to heat up so that it doesn’t crack when baking. Although I do not often purchase single-purpose products for my kitchen, the pizza stone is definitely worth the price since I use it for ALL of my pizza recipes and it produces the tastiest crust – whether you are using this cauliflower pizza crust recipe or any other sort!
    • Slide the pizza onto the stone with the help of a pizza peel. You might use anything else, such as a cutting board or an enlarged turner, but a pizza peel is the most effective.
    • Allow the crust to cool before adding the toppings. It is important to allow the crust to cool for 5-10 minutes to form a seal, which will prevent the crust from absorbing the sauce and becoming soggy.

    Topping Ideas

    • Veggie Lover’s – Tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, crumbled ground beef, and diced Canadian bacon
    • Meat Lovers – Tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, and black olives

    • serve immediately.
    • BBQ Chicken – Barbecue sauce (I use sugar-free bbq sauce), shredded chicken, diced red onions, and cheddar cheese
    • Hawaiian – Tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, Canadian bacon, and diced pineapple (omit for keto, but ok in small amounts for low carb)
    • Pesto – Spread with prepared pesto sauce and top with fresh mozzarella and sliced tomatoes
    • Pizza – Spread with prepared pizza sauce and top with fresh mozzarella and sliced tomatoes. After baking, sprinkle with fresh basil to finish it off.

    Storage Instructions

Leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. For the best results, reheat the pizza in the oven on a pizza stone. The texture of the finished product may be a little softer than desired, especially if you used a lot of pizza sauce, but I believe it’s still wonderful.Cooking in the microwave is not recommended unless you are alright with a very soft crust that you must eat with a fork after it has been warmed.

    1. You may also prepare only the crust ahead of time and preserve it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days..
    2. Bake it shortly before serving so that the topping is fresh.

    Freezing instructions:

Yes, you can freeze this keto cauliflower pizza dough for later use. To store the crust in the freezer for 3-6 months, make the crust without any toppings and cover it in plastic before wrapping it in foil.

How to reheat frozen cauliflower pizza crust:

With the frozen crust, there is no need to defrost the cauliflower pizza before making it. Using your chosen toppings, top the dough and place it onto a pizza stone in the oven to bake. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and bake for approximately 15 minutes.

    2. In a food processor, pulse the cauliflower florets until they are the consistency of rice, about 30 seconds. Make use of whatever grates you may have. (If you have one, use it.) Sauté the cauliflower for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly, in a lightly oiled saute pan on the stovetop, or until the cauliflower is very tender. (This is really crucial! Cooking it till it’s lovely and soft will result in a different texture than if it’s still crisp.
    3. In the meantime, whisk the eggs in a large mixing dish. Add in the parmesan cheese and mix well. If you’re using Italian seasoning and garlic powder, make sure to include those as well.
    4. It’s time to eat the cauliflower rice after it’s cooked through and tender..
    5. If you are cooking a large pizza, Option 1 (which requires more effort) is advised. Place the cauliflower rice in a kitchen towel and squeeze over the sink.
    6. Second, and easier, method (best if you want to make two smaller pizzas): Stir the cauliflower rice straight into the egg/cheese mixture. Check to see that both alternatives have been thoroughly combined. Perhaps a spatula will be required for pressing.
    7. Hands-on spreading of the ″dough″ onto the parchment paper to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) is recommended. Depending on whatever choice you choose in the previous stage, you can cook one giant pizza or two smaller pizzas.
    8. In the event that you are using a pizza stone (which is highly advised for optimum results), use the pizza peel to transfer the parchment paper to the stone before baking it. The alternative is to just put the pan into the oven. 15 minutes, or until the top is dry and firm to the touch, and the edges are just beginning to turn golden.
    9. Allowing the pizza crust to cool for at least 5-10 minutes at room temperature will help it to firm up even more while baking. Toss in any additional toppings you wish. Continue baking for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

    Cauliflower Pizza Crust

    • What is the key to making a fantastic cauliflower pizza crust? Bake until the top is a rich golden brown with dark edges, about 30 minutes. That is the only way to ensure the optimum flavor and texture. Once you’ve created a gorgeous crust, top it with your preferred toppings and place it back in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese on top. Almost immediately after my husband and I made the decision to follow a low-carb diet, I set out to find suitable alternatives for some of our favorite foods. Unsurprisingly, pizza ranked high on my priority list! I realize that using cauliflower to make a pizza crust sounds a little strange, but bear with me. Expert tips

    • I have three suggestions for you to follow in order to ensure that your crust is lovely and strong and not soggy: The most crucial suggestion I can give you is to make the crust as thin as possible. Then bake it until it’s a deep golden brown with dark edges, about 30 minutes more. That is the best way to have the finest flavor and texture
    • avoid using too many toppings. Unlike a typical crust, this crust is not as robust as it could be. It is possible that adding too many toppings will cause it to become mushy and squishy. Consequently, use just a little amount of your toppings
    • don’t be afraid to bake the crust until it is almost completely burnt, especially during the final phase of heating up the toppings. The only way to assure a nice, crispy crust is to do it this way.

    Crispy Cauliflower Pizza Crust

    • What is the key to making a fantastic cauliflower pizza crust? Bake until the top is a rich golden brown with dark edges, about 30 minutes. That is the only way to ensure the optimum flavor and texture. Preparation time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Time allotted: 50 minutes Main Course: This is the course you are looking for. American cuisine is served. Gluten-free diet is recommended. Servings: 2 servings per recipe Calories: 290 kilocalories 12 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt
    • 14 teaspoon black pepper
    • 12 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 12 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 small head cauliflower trimmed and sliced into florets (14 oz, 400 grams without refuse)
    • 2 big eggs lightly beaten

    Toppings:

    • 12 cup pizza sauce (I prefer Rao’s) with no extra sugar
    • 34 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella (3 oz)
    • 12 cup shredded mozzarella (I like Rao’s). Any additional pizza toppings you choose (but don’t go overboard)
    • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. A baking sheet should be lined with parchment paper (this is critical – I tried baking without parchment and the cauliflower crust ended up mushy instead of crispy). Lightly brush the parchment paper with olive oil. A 13-inch pizza pan can also be used, with a circle of parchment paper cut out to fit around the bottom of the pan.
    • To rice the cauliflower florets, place them in a food processor and pulse until they have the texture of rice.
    • Using a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and oregano until well combined. Add the riced cauliflower and combine with a rubber spatula until everything is well-combined.
    • Transfer the mixture to the middle of the baking sheet that has been prepped and flatten it into a thin 13-inch circle with a spatula to firm it up. It’s best to try to smooth it out so that it’s all the same thickness, and avoid making the edges too thin or they’ll burn (although even if they do become too dark, they’ll still taste wonderful)
    • About 30 minutes before the pie is finished, bake the crust until golden brown and extremely solid (such that the edges can be carefully picked up from the baking sheet without the circle coming apart).
    • Take the baking sheet out of the oven and set it aside. Set the broiler* to the highest setting in the oven. The tomato sauce should be spread on top of the crust using a spatula. On top of it, sprinkle the cheese. In order to avoid a soggy crust, you may definitely add extra toppings at this stage, but do not pile them on too thickly.
    • Return the pizza to the oven and broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and browned in areas on the top. Serve immediately after removing it from the oven and cutting it into eight triangles with a pizza cutter.

Given that I am unsure of the toppings you will be using, the nutrition information does not include any toppings other than pizza sauce and mozzarella.* Make sure your pan is broiler-safe and that your parchment paper is unbleached and designated as broiler-safe before you start broiling!Alternatively, you may bake the pizza towards the end of the process to melt the cheese rather than broiling it.I have three suggestions for you to follow to ensure that your cauliflower pizza dough is lovely and firm and does not go soggy:

    1. For the reason that I am unsure of the toppings you will use, the nutrition information does not include any toppings other than pizza sauce and mozzarella. * Make sure your pan is broiler-safe and that the parchment paper is unbleached and designated as broiler-safe before you start broiling! If you don’t want to broil the pizza at the end, you may bake it at the end to melt the cheese. If you want to ensure that your cauliflower pizza crust is lovely and strong and not mushy, here are three considerations to keep in mind.

We asked a registered dietitian to rank the top 5 best frozen cauliflower pizza crusts

There was a time when frozen cauliflower pizza crusts weren’t as common in the frozen food aisle as their doughy cousins, and it’s hard to recall when that was. However, if you walk into practically any grocery shop, you will find not only one, but most likely several cauli-crust options.Healthy consumers have expressed a desire for a crust composed of vegetables, and manufacturers have responded by providing it.In fact, there are so many alternatives to pick from these days that it may be difficult to decide which one to purchase.

    1. ″Many customers nowadays are seeking for alternatives to traditional crusts.
    2. Cauliflower is one such option.
    3. However, not all cauliflower pizza crusts are created equal, and some are better than others ″According to registered dietician Melissa Rifkin, RD.
    4. ″Some contain a high concentration of carbs and salt, while others are deficient in protein.″ Her argument is that even a crust that is mostly composed of the cruciferous vegetable might have components that are not particularly healthy.
    5. This article compares five of the most popular and greatest frozen cauliflower pizza crusts based on how nutritious they are, according to Rifkin.
    6. (Taste was not taken into consideration while rating the candidates.) Continue reading for her comments on the subject, as well as which one she considers to be the healthiest of the bunch.

The 5 best frozen cauliflower pizza crusts, ranked by an RD:

    1. REAL GOOD FOODS Cauliflower Crust, $6 for 2

Rifkin claims that Real Good Foods’ frozen cauliflower pizza crust is the greatest frozen cauliflower pizza crust available in terms of nutrition. In addition to cauliflower, almond flour, eggs, coconut flour, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, xanthan gum, and salt are used in its preparation.″Of all the brands, this one has the biggest amount of fiber,″ Rifkin explains as to why she prefers it over the others.Due to the fact that it’s prepared with almond flour, it’s a suitable choice for diabetics as well as anyone following a ketogenic diet.

    1. She did note that the salt content is high at 500 milligrams per serving (you want to keep it under 2,300 milligrams per day), and that you should just be mindful of your daily sodium consumption when eating this cauliflower crust.

    2. TRADER JOE’S CAULIFLOWER PIZZA CRUST, $4

The cauliflower gnocchi from Trader Joe’s has already become a cult classic. If you’re a fan of this other cauliflower product from TJ’s, you can be confident that Rifkin is as well, since it ranks second on her list.In addition to having less sodium than other crusts (with 220 milligrams per serving), Rifkin like the fact that this crust (prepared with cauliflower, corn flour, corn starch, potato starch, olive oil and salt) is gluten-free.She also appreciates that it is low in carbs and calories, which are two of the primary reasons that many people choose cauliflower crust over wheat crust.

    1. Despite this, it is not without flaws.
    2. In addition, Rifkin points out that each dish contains just one gram of fiber and protein, which he describes as ″poor.″ It will be up to your pizza toppings to make up for the lack of filler.

    3. OUTER AISLE PLANT POWER CAULIFLOWER PIZZA CRUSTs, $30 for 8

This crust, which is made with cauliflower, eggs, parmesan cheese, nutritional yeast, garlic, basil, and oregano, comes in right in the center of Rifkin’s list since it offers both nutritional benefits and drawbacks, according to the nutrition expert.″This one has a high protein level, with 10 grams of protein per serving,″ she explains of the crust’s primary advantage. One disadvantage is the low fiber content, which is only one gram per serving, which makes it a low-fiber option. It also has more sodium than Rifkin like, with 310 milligrams of sodium per serving.

    4. GREEN GIANT Cauliflower Pizza Crust, $5

Outer Aisle’s cauliflower crust, which is produced from cauliflower, rice flour, corn starch, corn flour and cornmeal, canola oil and seasonings (salt and black pepper), offers certain nutritional advantages and disadvantages that are similar to Rifkin’s Outer Aisle crust. This recipe’s components are straightforward, and the fiber level (two grams per serving) is larger than that of some of the other recipes on this list, which contain only one gram of fiber per dish. However, because of its low protein level (two grams per serving), she believes it should be ranked lower on her list of the healthiest cauliflower crusts.

    5. CAULIPOWER PLAIN CAULIFLOWER PIZZA CRUSTS, $50 for four

Among the very first companies to introduce a frozen cauliflower pizza crust, Caulipower was one of the first to do so.The crust is made from cauliflower and a variety of other ingredients, such as brown rice flour, cassava flour, tapioca flour and coconut oil, as well as yeast, flaxseed meal, baking powder, egg, salt, xanthan gum and honey.″This one has the greatest carbohydrate content and the lowest protein and fiber content,″ Rifkin explains as to why it is near the bottom of her list. However, on the plus side, the ingredients list is straightforward; there’s nothing suspect about it.

    1. While it’s always a good idea to compare the nutritional worth of different goods, the good news is that all of the cauliflower crusts on this list are nutritious, so you can feel good about whichever one you choose to put in your shopping
