    .Step 1: Place your nori on the bamboo rolling mat with the glossy side facing up.Step 2: Spread 1/3 – 1/2 cup sushi rice over 2/3 of the nori (starting from the short end).

    • Sushi rice should be used to cover about two-thirds of the nori (starting from the short end). You’ll want the rice layer to be around 1/8 inch thick. It may be necessary to wet your fingers with water before to distributing the rice if the rice is too sticky.
    • Make a neat line of filling ingredients about 1/3 of the way up the nori sheet.
    • Take the bamboo mat and gradually lift the bottom part (which contains only a third of the rice) up over the filling until it is covered.
