Description

  • It’s quicker and easier than rolling individual cookies, plus there’s no need to refrigerate cookie dough. This chocolate chip cookie pizza is ideal for entertaining! all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled): 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • A cup (1.5 sticks or 170g) unsalted butter, melted at room temperature, 2 tablespoons cornstarch (also known as cornflour), 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (150g) packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 big egg, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cup (225g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/4 cup (225g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Prepare your pizza pan by lightly greasing it.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing basin, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. To make the butter and both sugars smooth, beat them together on medium speed with a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment for about 2 minutes. Set aside. Add the egg and beat on high for about 1 minute, or until everything is well blended. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl as often as you need to. Add in the vanilla extract and mix on high speed until everything is well mixed.
  3. Combine the dry components with the liquid ingredients on a moderate speed until everything is well incorporated. Slowly add the chocolate chips while the mixer is still running on low speed. When the dough is finished, it will be thick and soft.
  4. Flatten out the cookie dough in the pizza pan with your fingers or a rubber spatula until the edges reach (or are just about to reach) the sides.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200°F and bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the top is puffy and gently browned. If you like the edges of your cookie pizza to be a bit crispier, bake it for a couple of minutes longer. After cooling on a wire rack, slice the cookie pizza while it is still on the baking sheet. Retain leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or up to 5 days in the refrigerated.

Notes

  1. Preparing Ahead and Freezing Prepare the cookie dough to Step 4 of the instructions. Close firmly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months in the freezer (up to 3 months in the refrigerator). If you’re freezing it, let it defrost in the refrigerator before moving on to the next step.
  2. Just for Laughs: Just as soon as I remove the cookie pizza from the oven, I push a few chocolate chips onto the top of the pizza while it is still warm. This is only for aesthetic purposes. As well as more chocolate
  3. Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Chewy Center Dough: Alternatively, you may use my chewy chocolate chip cookies recipe to make a denser, chewier chocolate chip cookie pizza instead. The baking time and temperature are the same as before. However, I feel that the melted butter causes the cookie pizza to expand and thin out more, and as a result, the slices aren’t as compact as they may be
  4. the end result is undoubtedly a richer tasting cookie pizza.
  5. Birthday Cookie Cake: For the birthday variation depicted below, I combine roughly 2/3 cup (127g) of sprinkles with the chocolate chips in a large mixing bowl. It is important not to include nonpareils (the little balls) into the cookie batter since they may lose their color if you do. They’re ideal for sprinkling on top of baked goods before or after baking, though.
  6. Special tools: a 12-inch pizza pan (one with a lip so that the sauce doesn’t spill over the edges– I like this aluminum pizza pan and this aluminized steel pizza pan)
  7. a 12-inch pizza stone (one with a lip so that the sauce doesn’t spill over the edges– I like this aluminum pizza stone and this aluminized steel pizza stone)

Review and Compare: Pizza Hut vs. Papa John’s Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • With the introduction of Pizza Hut’s new Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie, the ″pizza cookie″ was begging to be compared to Papa John’s Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie, which debuted last year and is now available nationwide.
  • The next morning, I skipped breakfast and went to the store with my husband to pick up one of each of the super-sized snacks, as well as a gallon of milk.
  • So, here’s a side-by-side comparison of the two options.
  • Take your chances and let the chips fall where they may!
  1. First and foremost, the box.
  2. Because both cookies measure 8 inches wide, they are almost exactly the same size.
  3. When opposed to the advertising photographs, they did appear to be a little bit smaller in real.
  4. The box for Papa John’s cookie is just a smaller version of their usual cardboard pizza box, but the box for Pizza Hut’s cookie is lighter in weight and features distinctive artwork.
  5. The cookies themselves appear to be more varied in appearance than I had imagined.
  1. The crust on Papa John’s is crustier and flakier in appearance, but the crust on Pizza Hut’s is smoother and more golden in appearance, with more visible chocolate chips.
  2. The addition of extra chips to the top of Pizza Hut’s cookie dough prior to baking is visible in this picture.
  3. It looked very delicious…
  4. much better than the promotional photographs, in my opinion.
  • The cookies are both cooked in a foil pan that is similar, if not the same, as the first.
  • Despite the fact that Pizza Hut’s cookie is intended to be divided into eight pieces, ours was only sliced into four.
  • Whoops!
  • Now it’s time to talk about taste.
  • First and foremost, Papa John’s.
  • I noted right away that it was rather crunchy and crumbly, particularly around the crust.
  1. It was evenly cooked and maybe a bit oily on the outside.
  2. Nestlé Toll House was my initial thinking after tasting the chocolate chips itself, which tasted like semi-sweet chips to me.
  3. Given that the flavor was practically identical to the original cookie that we all know and love, it’s no surprise that I thought it tasted pretty darn tasty.
  4. I also warmed up my slice of bread in the microwave for 10 seconds to see how it would react.
  5. Oh, yes, mmm…
  6. and, predictably, much more delicious.
  • The cookie from Pizza Hut was greasier than the cookie from Papa John’s.
  • It’s also a little thicker than usual.
  • Papa John’s was around 3/8′′ tall, and Pizza Hut was approximately 1/2′′ tall.
  • It was also more densely packed with Hershey’s chocolate chips, which I found to be slightly sweeter than the semi-sweet chips, despite the fact that they were labeled as such.
  • Approximately 165 chips are contained in each cookie, according to Pizza Hut.
  • This pizza had a distinct texture than Papa John’s; it was more chewy and gooey on the inside, with a crispy bite on the outside crust.

Generally speaking, the overall flavor is really sweet, but I continued eating bits, so I must have loved it.Once again, a 10-second blast in the microwave only served to enhance the whole experience. What a shame I didn’t have any vanilla ice cream with me!In general, both cookies are delicious.

It’s extremely difficult to mess up a chocolate chip cookie, I mean, really…However, there are certain variances between them.If I had to choose between the two, I would prefer the cookie from Pizza Hut over the one from Papa John’s.The texture and overall quality of the chocolate were far superior than my expectations. But, yes, these things are rich and delicious, and they make you feel guilty.Just a bit of each slice was more than enough for me, so I didn’t finish it all.

Price: The Pizza Hut Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie costs $4.99 when purchased with a pizza, or $5.99 when purchased separately. It costs $6.00 for a Papa John’s Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie.Would I buy it again?

Most likely not.If I wanted freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, it would be simple enough to purchase pre-made dough from the grocery store that would be identical in flavor and cost less.On the other hand, if I’m on the road or hosting a pizza party, I could consider include one in my order.Nutritional Information for a Papa John’s Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie: 195 calories, 80 calories from fat, 9 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 105 milligrams of sodium, 26 grams of carbohydrates, 17 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein Nutritional Information for the Pizza Hut Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie: 180 calories (for a typical 1/8 slice, mine was 1/4), 80 calories from fat, 9 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 110 milligrams of sodium, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 16 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein

Chocolate Chip Pizza

  • When I was in high school and during my first year of college, I worked as a delivery driver for a pizza restaurant.
  • This is a chain, so I won’t give you the name of the restaurant, but in order for this tale to make any sense, you must understand that it was a pizza establishment that didn’t really bake the pizzas that were served to us.
  • As an example, you might go there to get an uncooked pizza, bring it home, and then bake it.
  • It’s not frozen; it’s simply that it hasn’t been cooked yet.
  1. So working at the pizza parlor turned out to be a pretty enjoyable experience.
  2. Everyone who worked there became good friends with me, and the place was constantly crowded.
  3. As a result, time flew past.
  4. Which I appreciated since, before to that, I had worked at a dollar shop, where I didn’t have a lot of responsibilities.
  5. As a result, it was extremely monotonous, and it seemed like each shift went on for an eternity.
  1. I enjoy keeping myself occupied.
  2. In any case, there were just two disadvantages to working at the pizza restaurant.
  3. Your clothes, and especially your shoes, would always smell like cheese and sausage, no matter how well you washed them.
  4. It was really disgusting.
  • In order to keep the sausage stench from spreading throughout your whole closet, you basically had to have one pair of shoes that were designated as ″work shoes.″ 2.) Because our pizzas were undercooked and the establishment lacked ovens (why would they?
  • ), we ate outside.
  • After all, they don’t bake pizzas.
  • ), and snacks were difficult to come by in the area.
  • Thankfully, there were no ″Oh, someone didn’t pick up this pizza, so we can now eat it″ moments.
  • There are times when the absence of food might be a little disheartening.
  1. I mean, it was a group of high school students that worked from the time school got out until just after 9 p.m., when the pizza business would close for the night.
  2. As a result, we became hungry and frequently forgot to pack snacks (the obvious solution).
  3. Fortunately, there was another pizza restaurant just next door.
  4. True enough, we had a rival who was literally just a few feet away from our pizza shop, but they had one significant advantage over us: they possessed ovens.
  5. They put their pizzas in the oven.
  6. Whether or not our boss would have been furious with us, we all agreed that if we were to enter into enemy territory in order to grab a baked pizza, we ought to do so in a covert manner.
  • The fact that we couldn’t simply walk over there in our uniform, pick up a pizza, and then stroll in the front door so that our customers could see that we were supporting our competitor was unacceptable.
  • No, it was a top-secret affair, to be sure.
  • Most of the time, the group chose to purchase a chocolate chip pizza as a result of the vote.
  • This was essentially a gigantic chocolate chip cookie cooked on top of a pizza dough, and it was delicious.
  • It was really exquisite, however I have a feeling that part of the attraction was the ″forbidden fruit″ component of the entire experience.
  • Having chocolate chip pizza with my fellow pizza slingers is one of my favorite memories from high school.

It was a closely guarded secret, and it was delectable. When I took my first mouthful of this handmade version, I was immediately taken back to that time period in my life. The way I like chocolate chip pizza is as follows: It is, in my humble opinion, the greatest type of dessert pizza that exists on the planet.I’m hoping you’ll agree with me.

Pizza with chocolate chips, feeds 8-10 people (as a dessert). For the crust, use the following ingredients: 1/2 cup all purpose flour (you may substitute up to 1/2 cup whole wheat flour if you choose) 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 teaspoon of table salt 3/4 teaspoon active dry yeast (about 1/8 teaspoon) a huge pinch (roughly 1/8 teaspoon) sugar 1/2 cup warm water (optional) 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil Warm the water and dissolve the sugar in it.Then sprinkle the yeast on top of the mixture.Allow for 5 minutes of resting and activation time after that. The yeast should begin to seem a little frothy, which is a positive indication. That indicates that it is carrying out its responsibilities.

It is important to check the expiration date on your yeast container if your yeast does not appear to have changed at all (it does not froth).Pour all of the ingredients into a large mixing basin.Stir until a soft dough ball forms, about 10 minutes.

Sprinkle flour on your work surface and knead the dough 3-4 times.Return the dough ball to the bowl, lightly oiling it (you may use the same one as before).Cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and set aside in a warm, draft-free location for about an hour, or until the dough has about doubled in size (approximately 30 minutes). To make the cookie dough, combine the following ingredients: 1/2 cup melted butter (softened) 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 quail (egg) 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional) 1 cup of all-purpose flour baking soda (half a teaspoon) a quarter teaspoon of salt 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) Crushed Heath Bars and micro chips (I used a combination of the two).

Combine the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. The color of the mixture should begin to brighten as it sits.Combine the egg and vanilla essence in a separate bowl.Separately, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing basin.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour mixture and the butter mixture.Add in the chocolate chips and mix well.Remove from heat and place in the refrigerator until needed.Once the (crust) dough has risen, it should be rolled out until it is very thin and crisp.

  1. Bake for 5 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit while you prepare the cookie batter.
  2. The bottom crust will benefit from getting a head start in this manner since we will be adding a thick, wet top layer to it with the cookie dough later in the process.
  3. As a result, it permits the interior to bake a little bit before then.
  4. In addition, I believe that a pizza stone is really useful for this recipe since it helps to keep the bottom crust crispy.
  • However, if you do not have one, it is also OK.
  • Using clean hands, press the cookie dough into a big disc that is just slightly smaller than the pie shell.
  • This should be done on a piece of plastic wrap.
  • Take out the crust after 5 minutes and gently flip the cookie dough over the top, pulling off the plastic wrap before putting everything back in the oven for another 5 minutes or so.
  • Remove from the oven and bake for another 18-20 minutes, or until the sides begin to brown.
  • Allow for 5 minutes of cooling time before slicing into it.
  • To make the appearance even more delicious, a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, or chocolate sauce poured on top can be added to the dish before serving.
  • Personally, I think it’s perfect just the way it is, but that’s just my opinion.
  • Try it out next time you invite friends around for a get-together—genuinely it’s such a delightful treat!

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Butter should froth and begin to brown after approximately 5 minutes of cooking in a pot over medium heat. Put off the heat after the butter has begun to brown and transfer it to a heatproof basin to cool completely before using.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda until well combined. Combine the brown and white sugars in a large mixing basin or the base of a stand up mixer and warm the brown butter until it is completely mixed. Combine the entire eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Mix at a medium speed until the mixture is smooth and light in color.
  3. Using a rubber spatula, carefully add the dry ingredients into the wet components, folding until the mixture is completely smooth and mixed. Remove from consideration.

  5. Prepare a 12-inch (30.5 cm) cast iron skillet with canola oil once the dough has been allowed to chill completely. Make sure to coat the sides as well. Using your hands, gently press down on the dough in the center of the skillet, spreading the dough out to cover the base of the skillet while keeping the edges a little thicker to mimic a crust.
  6. Using the remaining 14 cup (60 mL) of chocolate wafers, sprinkle these on top of the dough, concentrating in the center to mimic pepperoni on a pizza. Add a pinch of flaky sea salt to finish the dish.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Allow for 30 minutes of cooling time in the cast iron pan before slicing.

Review: Pizza Hut – Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • An 8-inch chocolate chip cookie, crafted with Hershey’s semi-sweet chocolate chips, the Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie from Pizza Hut is a massive, freshly baked treat.
  • I was able to get one for $4.99 when I purchased a pizza (it would have cost $5.99 otherwise).
  • After receiving the cookie, which was sizzling hot, I had to wait a few minutes before taking my first bite: moist, gooey, and very chocolatey!
  • The cookie has a soft chewy texture that, when combined with its relative thickness, gives it the appearance of a blondie (which is a brownie without the chocolate).
  1. A small amount of melted chocolate could be found in almost every bite, and the chips are slightly larger than those found in most store-bought chocolate chip cookies (the business claims that there are 165 chips per cookie).
  2. Surprisingly, the chips retained a lot of their meltiness the second day (at room temperature).
  3. The only notable distinctions between Pizza Hut’s version and Papa John’s (which, admittedly, I ate last October) are that Pizza Hut’s version appears to have more chocolate and is only slightly less sweet than Papa John’s.
  4. If you’re looking for a quick and delicious dessert to go with your pizza, either of these options will do the trick.
  5. Ultimately, I’d argue that Pizza Hut’s rendition is somewhat superior to the other two.
  1. Aside from being really delicious in the manner that freshly made, warm cookies are, Pizza Hut’s Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie also happens to be a great value.
  2. It would be delicious served with some vanilla ice cream on the side.

We Try the New Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie From Papa John’s

  • New dessert on the menu at Papa John’s is an 8-inch chocolate chip cookie that’s freshly baked and sliced into slices like a pizza, much like a traditional pizza.
  • The Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie costs $5 and is only available with a pizza purchase, however I was able to get one for the same amount without having to purchase a pie.
  • While there are many varieties of chocolate chip cookies available, this particular one checks all of the important boxes: it’s warm, full of chocolate chips, and it has a tantalizing aroma that sneaks into the box through the vents, crippling your willpower before you even get the first bite into your mouth.
  • This dessert has a moist and chewy texture throughout, is crisp on the top and bottom, and is crispy at the outside edge.
  1. It’s best served warm, especially with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, but even after it’s completely cooled, the cookie retains its soft and chewy texture and flavor.
  2. Yes, you’ll be consuming the full meal on your own.
  3. It takes around 8 minutes in the pizza oven to bake the cookies, which are created from dough that has been pre-packed in aluminum pie plates.
  4. Based on the flavor, I’m presuming the dough is received straight from Tollhouse or another large-scale cookie dough maker.
  5. The cookie may be a little less good than a freshly baked, home-made cookie, but it’s still a whole lot better than anything you’d get in a bag in the cookie aisle.
  1. I’d say go for it if it’s just $5.

  • I was able to snag one up for $5.
  • It’s a cookie, but it’s more of a mini-sized cookie pizza, and it’s just slightly larger than a personal pizza in terms of size and weight.
  • Each slice is the equal of a standard-sized chocolate chip cookie, resulting in two cookies per person for a family of four, which appears to be a reasonable serving size in terms of serving size for this recipe.

  2. It was freshly made to order and served steaming hot, with a lovely, crispy outer crust across the whole piece.
  3. Similar to a pizza, the sides are more cooked through and crispy, while the middle is wet and nearly sticky in consistency (but not raw).

  5. Plenty of milk chocolate chips were there and they melted beautifully.

  3. Despite being a touch too sugary, Papa John’s Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie was still rather tasty overall.
  4. It had a flavor that reminded me of freshly baked Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven.
