If you’re creating sushi for the first time, have a look at our ″How inside out rolls″ section.The California sushi roll is a great option for people who aren’t big fans of raw fish.Because the main component is imitation crab sticks (which are created from cooked Surimi fish flesh), this sushi roll is simpler to prepare and is safe for pregnant women to eat while pregnant.California rolls are rather simple to create, and they are not nearly as tough as the classic Dragon roll sushi recipe.


Cover the bamboo mat

If you are using a complete nori sheet, spread a tablespoon of Masago or sesame seeds equally over the top half of the rice; if you are using half a nori sheet, spread a spoonful of Masago or sesame seeds evenly over the top half of the rice.

The old Fliparoo

As a result, the rice is now face down on the bamboo mat when the nori is turned upside down. Following that, we’ll arrange the ingredients on top of the nori (and not the rice).

First the crab sticks

Arrange the crab sticks around the edge of the nori until they are all touching. I have several that are wonderfully formed for sushi, as you can see in the photo below. It’s possible that you’ll have to trim yours to make it fit properly into the roll.

Then the avocado

Next to it, arrange 1-2 thick slices of avocado on a plate. Remember that you need to be able to seal the nori around the avocado, so don’t go overboard with the amount of avocado you use. To keep the avocado from turning brown if you aren’t serving the meal right away, put a few drops of lemon juice on it before you start cooking.

Almost there

Now it’s as simple as that. Turn it inside out and set it aside. Inside out sushi is a technique that may be learned by following these precise instructions. Cut the pie into eight equal pieces. For optimal results, first cut in half, then each half into two pieces, and finally cut the pieces in half again. Garnish with soy sauce, pickled ginger (gari), and wasabi for the best flavor.
