    Pizza Hut Cinnamon Sticks

    Pizza Hut is one of those establishments that almost everyone in the United States has visited.Is there anyone who thinks it’s particularly good?Nah.

    1. However, it was unavoidable that you would end up eating the pizza at some time in your life.
    2. They funded the BookIt program when I was in primary school, which was a memorable experience for me.
    3. I don’t recall the specifics, but you read books, earned stars in the form of stickers that were placed on a pin, and somehow that resulted in a free personalized pan pizza being provided.
    4. I don’t recall ever being a huge fan of the Pizza Hut.
    5. Even as a youngster, I felt the crust was just greasy and unpleasant, and that there was far too much cheese on top of everything.
    6. I also recall having a strong dislike for their cheese.

    But, because I enjoyed doing well in school, I continued to accumulate stars and wear my BookIt pin with pride.Anyway.So I didn’t care for the pizza, however.Buffets are one of my favorite things to eat.

    I did that as a child, and I continue to do it now.The Ponderosa buffet was the source of some of my most cherished childhood eating experiences.That thing was really incredible!It was fantastic.

    While it couldn’t compete with Ponderosa, the Pizza Hut in my town did have a buffet with a variety of pizza, salad, and pasta options.Sure, their pizza didn’t appeal to me, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to eat at a buffet.I had the opportunity to sample so many different items in one sitting!The dessert pizza, on the other hand, was the main attraction.

    1. It was available in a variety of fruit flavors (apple and cherry, perhaps), and had a crumble and frosting on top.
    2. I’d put up with the mediocre pizza simply to get my hands on the dessert pizza!
    3. So, this year, while on my mini-adventure to redeem my free birthday goods, I came upon a Pizza Hut location.
    4. I didn’t give it a second thought until I saw there was a dessert choice.
    • No, it wasn’t the dessert pizza; instead, it was cinnamon sticks with icing (I could have also chosen breadsticks with marinara, but who does that?
    • ).
    • I reasoned that even if I didn’t care for it, Ojan enjoys cinnamon sticks, buns, and bread, so he could find it appealing as well.
    • So I decided to check out the local Pizza Hut to see what all the fuss was about.
    • Ordering was simple, as everything was done online, including my freebie.
    • Despite the fact that the restaurant only had two ratings on Yelp, the personnel was quite courteous.
    • I was even wishing a happy birthday on the occasion.
    Baked Cinnamon Sticks with Icing.  $5.

    The cinnamon sticks are available in two different sizes: ″single order″ and ″double order.″ I had no clue how many people would be interested in either size, so I opted with the modest ″single order.″ When the box that was presented to me was the size of a single pan pizza, I was a bit taken aback by the size of the package.It turns out that a single order is equivalent to ten sticks!The cinnamon sticks were still hot from the oven, despite the fact that they had just been removed.

    1. On the exterior, they had a slight crispiness to them.
    2. They appeared to be nothing more than standard pizza dough, covered with a generous amount of butter, cinnamon, and sugar, very much as you’d expect.
    3. The coating on the center sticks was the most generous, but they were all quite well-coated in general.
    4. Neither the cinnamon nor the sugar were used sparingly.
    5. You didn’t even need the dipping sauce, which was frosting, since there was so much cinnamon and sugar to go around.
    6. It was simply very sweet.

    However, it dissolved into the heated cinnamon sticks with incredible ease.Rather than dipping them in, putting the sauce on top of them worked quite nicely.Overall, these appeared to be rather tasty, both visually and olfactorily.Well-done, well coated, with a generous amount of topping.

    But, to be honest, I don’t care.There was something about the pizza dough that didn’t sit right with me, and they were also too heavy in the stomach for me.Ojan, who enjoys cinnamon rolls, cinnamon bread, and other baked goods, really appreciated them.However, aside from bringing them back for him, I would not purchase them again.

    Although $5 for ten sticks appears to be a reasonable price, it appears that delivering a smaller serving would be more beneficial.Nobody could ever go through a box of them after eating pizza as well, in my opinion.If you are a frequent consumer of icing, you may purchase additional icing for $0.35.

    How to Make Ground Cinnamon From Cinnamon Sticks

    After learning how to create ground cinnamon at home, you may never want to buy pre-ground cinnamon again.It is a lot of fun to create at home, and it is really aromatic and delicious.Here’s a recipe/tutorial where I demonstrate three different techniques for making ground cinnamon out of cinnamon sticks.

    1. Some of the equipment and tools required may already be in your possession.
    2. Cinnamon sticks are ground into cinnamon powder using both manual and mechanical/electrical processes, which I shall discuss in detail.

    Manual ways for grinding cinnamon sticks

    When it comes to manually grinding cinnamon sticks into cinnamon powder, there are three major methods to choose from.Obviously, there are additional options, but these are the most commonly used: Microplane Zester is a kind of microplane.In order to just top a dessert or whatever else with fresh cinnamon, I prefer to use a Microplane zester.

    1. This is my preferred method and it is also my favorite.
    2. Although I use it mostly for citrus zest, it is also excellent for crushing cinnamon sticks and nutmeg, as well as other spices.
    3. Simply place the zester over a bowl or over your dish, such as homemade rice pudding or peach cobbler, and run the cinnamon stick over the top of it.
    4. Cinnamon shavings will be shaved into very tiny shavings with this tool.
    5. They aren’t nearly as fine as cinnamon powder, but they are still delicious and make an excellent topping for baked goods.
    6. In the event that you want additional lemon zest for a dish, you may just spend a few minutes passing a stick through a zester, which will yield easily enough for 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon.

    The following are some of the other popular manual methods: Ziploc bag and Meat Tenderizer are also excellent options.Simply place the cinnamon sticks in a Ziploc bag and close it up.Then, using a meat tenderizer, pound the cinnamon sticks until they are powdered.This is a funny method to get rid of some pent-up rage, if you will.

    As an added bonus, wielding the meat tenderizer (a little Thor’s hammer) always makes me feel confident.Mortar and pestle are two tools used in the preparation of food.The use of a mortar and pestle, which is another common and extremely traditional method of crushing cinnamon sticks into cinnamon powder, is another option.This is an ancient process for crushing fresh spices into powder that is still widely used today.

    It also works nicely with cinnamon sticks, which I’ve tried.

    Electric/Mechanical ways to make ground cinnamon from cinnamon sticks

    • If you’re thinking about how to make fresh ground cinnamon from cinnamon sticks using electric or mechanical equipment, there are two basic methods that come to mind: Blender with a lot of power The first method is to combine everything together in a high-speed blender.
    • An electric blender, such as a Vitamix or Blendtec, or something similar, will be ideal for this task.
    • Place the cinnamon sticks in a blender and mix on high for no more than 30 seconds at a time, scraping down the sides as needed.

    • Have the lid off and take a peek at the progress.
    • It’s likely that after the first 30 seconds, you’ll have fine cinnamon powder on the edges of the blender and bigger lumps of cinnamon powder on the bottom.

    To extract all of the cinnamon powder out of the mixture, puree it for another 30 seconds in the blender before transferring it to a sifter.After straining, you will have cinnamon ″pebbles″ in your strainer.Put all of the ingredients back in the blender and mix again.The results will vary based on the blender you are using.

    You may use the cinnamon powder in any way you like.Grinder/Coffee Grinder with Spices Imagine that, spice grinders are expressly designed for the purpose of grinding spices!You may certainly use a coffee grinder/spice grinder combination to finely ground your cinnamon sticks if you have one of these devices on hand.Processor (in the food industry) I do not advocate using a food processor for this recipe.

    • Yours might work, but mine doesn’t seem to function at all.
    • The two electric approaches described above appear to be significantly more effective.
    • That’s all there is to it!

    • It is important to consider the dish in which you wish to utilize it when determining which one to use.
    • Cinnamon from Ceylon has a delicate, sweet taste that is wonderful in baked goods and desserts.
    • The stronger flavor of cassia can be utilized to advantage in savory recipes or as a component of a complex sauce for meaty entrees, such as roasted chicken.
    • No matter what you do, it’s ideal if you just ground the cinnamon you’re planning to use and store the leftover sticks in a jar with a tight-fitting lid.

    Normal cinnamon sticks retain their strength for around three years, but keep in mind that the store where you purchased them may have had them on the shelf for almost that amount of time before you bought them.

    Homemade Cinnamon Powder

    • Using a mill and pestle, you can ground cinnamon sticks, but this is a time-consuming process, especially if you’re dealing with the dense, tough cassia bark.
    • The Ceylon cinnamon is softer, but it is still difficult to grate using this approach.
    • If you apply pressure on the cinnamon stick as hard as you can, you may still end up with shards and threads instead of useful homemade cinnamon powder.
    • Some more manual approaches include utilizing the fine-grade side of a box grater or a microplane zester/grater, which is a small, wand-like equipment with extremely sharp grating blades that can be used in one hand.
    • A microplane should be held at an angle on your tabletop as you bear down on it for stability when grating.
    • Cassia sticks, in particular, are prone to breaking into shards, so use caution when handling them to avoid splinters.

    • Pizza is a mainstay in our household, and while my husband is the type of person who typically doesn’t eat the crust on his pizza, he says this one is like eating a breadstick!
    • And one of the nicest features about this recipe is that the dough can be stored in the freezer!
    • This recipe will make enough dough for two 12-inch pizzas, depending on how large your pizza pan is.

    As a result, you may either bake both at the same time or make one and freeze the other.

    The Secret to making this Pizza Crust taste like delivery

    Essentially, corn flour and a decent flavor basting are the keys to having your homemade pizza dough recipe taste like takeout pizza (apart from the fact that it is an excellent pizza dough recipe).

    Cornmeal:
    • Have you ever noticed that the bottom and crust of your delivered pizza have a little coating of cornmeal?

    • I always suggest basting your crust with a little bit extra before baking it.
    • In a small mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, parmesan and salt, then whisk in the garlic powder and parsley.
    • Brush the mixture along the edge of your handmade pizza crust and bake until golden brown.
    • This will not only give the pizza crust a lovely color, but it will also offer a wonderful flavor!
    • It will give your pizza that additional something that will have all of your children biting down on their pizza crusts, even if they had previously left them on their plates like bones.

    Get your dough to rise like a pro!

    • The use of a warm oven is one of my favorite methods for ensuring that your pizza dough rises properly.
    • Getting started is simple; simply preheat your oven to around 200 degrees Fahrenheit while you make your pizza dough.
    • Afterwards, when it’s time to let your pizza dough to rise (step 2), switch off your oven and place your pizza dough in a covered container inside to rise.
    • It aids in the gorgeous rising of your pizza dough.
    • If your homemade pizza crust hasn’t risen after 1-2 hours, it’s possible that your yeast is faulty or that your water was too hot, which killed the yeast during the initial phase of the process.

    Bake one crust now, freeze one for later!

    It seems like everyone has a distinct favorite pizza crust. A medium-thick pizza crust is more to my liking than a thin one. However, modifying this recipe to suit your own unique preferences is simple!

    • Here are some helpful hints if you’re attempting to cook a deep dish pizza.
    • Using a cake pan, or even better yet, a cast iron dish with a higher rimmed border, is my preferred method of baking.
    • You’ll need a baking pan with a rim that’s about 1-2 inches thick.
    • Brush the pan generously with oil and then set it in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes before adding your pizza crust to the pan.
    • Take cautious, because the pan will be quite hot!
    • After that, top with your desired toppings and bake!
    Like a thin crispy crust?

    Instead of all-purpose flour, I recommend using bread flour if you want a light and crispy crust on your bread. Then make certain that your crust is as thin as you desire it to be! If you don’t want air bubbles in your pizza, puncture the crust with a fork a few times all over the place.

    How to make Homemade Pizza

    It’s really simple to make pizza once you’ve prepared and flattened out your pizza dough. Cook for 10-12 minutes at 475 degrees, after which you may top with your favorite cheese and toppings.     • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast (instant yeast will also work)
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 2 tablespoon olive oil
    • 3 12 cups flour plus additional flour for kneading dough (see notes)
    • Cornmeal.

    Olive Oil Mixture for Brushing Pizza:

    • The following ingredients: 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
    • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese (the powdered variety)
    • Garlic salt and freshly chopped dried parsley to taste
    • Warm water, sugar, and yeast are mixed together in a big mixing dish. Allow the mixture to sit for 5-10 minutes, or until the sugar has completely dissolved and the yeast has begun to bubble. Using a wooden spoon, stir in 12 cups flour, salt, and olive oil until well combined. Then, adding 2 additional cups of flour at a time, work the dough until it begins to ball up. The dough should be soft and sticky to the touch when it is finished. If the dough is too moist, add another tablespoon or two of flour
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and sprinkle flour on top
    • Repeat with the remaining dough. 5 minutes of kneading is required.
    • Olive oil should be applied to the bowl that was previously used. Form your dough into a ball and drop it into the mixing bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Take a large piece of plastic wrap out of the freezer and spray it well with cooking spray. Wrap the bowl’s rim in plastic wrap to protect it from damage (cooking spray side down). Place the dough in a warm place to rise for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size (see notes)
    • Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to remove any remaining air. Knead the dough a couple of times more until it becomes a little more elastic. Using a knife, cut the dough in half and form it into two balls. Place the mixture back into the basin and cover with plastic wrap, allowing it to rest for 15 minutes. You have the option to freeze one ball at this moment (see notes)
    • Preheat the oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Prepare your baking sheet or pizza stone by spraying it with cooking spray or rubbing it with olive oil. Using a cornmeal-dusted baking sheet or pizza stone (this gives the pizza an additional crunch and texture—don’t skip it! ), transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and stretch out into a 12-inch circle using a rolling pin. Place the dough on a baking sheet or a pizza stone to rise. Turn the edge of the dough in a little and squeeze it together to form a crust.
    • Make an olive oil mixture for brushing on pizza by combining the items mentioned under ″Olive Oil Mixture for Brushing on Pizza.″ Apply the ingredients to the pizza crust with a pastry brush (or a spoon if you don’t have one) or with your fingers. After that, top with extra cornmeal if desired. A fork should be used to prick the pizza dough many times to prevent bubbles from developing
    • Pizza crust should be topped with selected ingredients and baked for 10-12 minutes
    I typically use all-purpose flour for this recipe, but if you want a super crispy crust use bread flour! All-purpose flour will give you a chewier crust. I like to turn my oven to 170 degrees Fahrenheit while I’m mixing up the dough. Then when the dough is placed in the bowl and covered plastic wrap turn the oven off and place the bowl in the oven to rise. If you want to freeze one pizza dough ball, generously spray dough ball with cooking spray and double wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Thawing the dough after freezing: remove dough from freezer and place in refrigerator for 12 hours. When ready to use it, place dough on the counter for 30 minutes, allowing the dough to come to room temperature. Continue to step 4.     • Whether it’s a no-knead, no-stretch pan pizza in the winter, a grilled pizza party in the summer, or an authentic Neapolitan pie in the fall, I like making pizza all year long for my family and friends.

    1: Use a Scale!

    • As far as I can tell, the vast majority of the difficulties people have with decent dough are caused by wrongly measuring flour, with a cup measure being the very worst method to use.
    • Rather than measuring ingredients by volume, the greatest pizza (and bread) recipes will ask for them to be measured by weight.
    • What is the reason behind this?
    • This is due to the fact that flour is compressible.
    • After you sift your flour into a cup, you’ll end up with around four ounces of flour when the cup is completely filled.
    • Measure your flour, on the other hand, by firmly inserting the cup measure into a bag of flour and leveling it out, and you can wind up with as much as six ounces of flour in the same cup.
