Despite the fact that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) is classified PG, there are some violent moments that managed to get by the review board. It is possible to see a large blood puddle on the floor of the Turtles’ house when they realize that Splinter has been stolen.
18. Young Sam Rockwell
Sam Rockwell, who also portrayed Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2, portrays the teenage hoodlum who is giving filtered or menthol cigarettes to the newest Foot recruits. Rockwell previously appeared in Iron Man 2 as the character of Justin Hammer.
19. Narc Arcade Game
The Foot Clan lair is depicted as a Pleasure Island for New York’s disgruntled youth; here, they are free to do anything they want without fear of consequences. Narc (1988) is one of the arcade games, and it was condemned at the time for its depiction of extreme violence.
20. High Speed Pinball Machine
High Speed is a pinball machine found in the Foot Clan’s lair that first appeared in the game in 1986. Williams Electronics was also responsible for the creation of Narc.
21. Product Placement: Saint Michael’s Malt Beverage
In this photograph, you can see a variety of Pepsi goods. Additionally, a Saint Michael’s can, which is a sort of non-alcoholic beer, can be seen in the foreground of the photograph. These delinquent children abide by the drinking laws.
22. Meet The Shredder
Shredder, like the Turtles, was portrayed by two actors: James Saito provided the body acting while David McCharen provided the voice acting.
23. Danny Pennington, Punk Rocker
Danny is clearly a fan of the Sex Pistols, as seen by the fact that every shirt he wears in the film features a photo of bassist Sid Vicious.
24. Ninja Kick The Damn Rabbit!
Donatello and Michelangelo are sitting in April’s apartment, watching an episode of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, which featured a version of the story of the Tortoise and the Hare.
25. Bingo Beaver Action Figure
The action figure of Bingo Beaver, a member of the ″Get-Along Gang″ from the 1980s, is the item that Leonardo is gazing at at the thrift shop. The Gang was a group of characters from greeting cards that were given their own television program in 1984.
26. Dangerous Nunchucks
- Nunchucks, Michelangelo’s preferred weapon, have been both outlawed and restricted in a number of nations over the years, including Italy.
- It came to the point that Michelangelo never used the actual weapon in the second Ninja Turtles movie, The Secret of the Ooze, instead opting for sausage links from the local deli stand.
- The writers of the cartoon television series finally decided to give Michelangelo a grappling hook, which he used as his primary weapon.
27. Tatsu, Real-Life Badass
A guy named Toshishiro Obata plays Tatsu, the Foot Clan’s second in command, in the anime series Foot Clan. Much though he appears to be highly menacing in the film, he is even more terrifying in person. He is credited with founding the sword technique known as Shinkendo, which combines several Japanese strategies into a unified, fluid form.
28. No, He’s Alright Guys!
As written in the original screenplay, Tatsu kills one of the Foot ninjas, Shinsho, by beating him to death. Post-production changes were made at this story point to demonstrate that Shinsho was still alive. Breathing sounds and language were added to the film to demonstrate this.
29: Product Placement: Archie Comics
A crate of Archie Comics may be found off to the side of the Foot Clan’s storehouse of stolen items. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures was published by Archie Comics from 1988 to 1996, and there was even a crossover with the Riverdale gang in which they saved Veronica from being kidnapped and ransomed by kidnapping gang members.
