Toppers Pizza a Wisconsin success story

It’s nearly 2 a.m., and two young ladies in their early twenties are outside Toppers Pizza in Oshkosh demanding free pizza.Kelsey Glander, the general manager, is beaming, seemingly taking pleasure in the borderline aggressive request. The response from one woman was, ″No, I saw a sign out here the other day.″ Anyone who demonstrated that they follow Toppers on any social media site was eligible for a free 9-inch pizza or a single order of Topperstix, according to the woman who spoke with me.

It was only available for a brief period.″Oh, so it’s only today that you’re not available? Is it not for us?″Do we just have terrible luck, or do we have something more serious?″ It was from 11 a.m.

until 4 p.m., which was unfortunate, according to Glander. His voice has a lovely tone to it.He is smiling.Despite the fact that Glander was on the line, assisting in the dispatch of roughly 600 orders during the five-hour campaign, the results were disappointing.

  • The lobby was jam-packed, and a line snaked out the entrance and down the pavement to the corner of the street for the whole duration.
  • ″You’re a jerk, guy,″ the woman remarked.
  • ‘We’ve had some terrible luck, so let’s go to Papa John’s,’ the other lady said.
  • Across the street is a pizza shop that is a competitor.
  • The Toppers lobby window is easily seen from the outside.
  • At this moment, a small group of customers lingering around, waiting for their meals, defend Toppers, claiming that the cuisine is superior.
  • It is met with deafening silence.
  • The women are still yelling that they’re on their way to Papa John’s Pizza.
  • Their departure was heralded with a resounding, ″You guys stink.″ If that was anything that concerned Glander, it didn’t show.
  • Because this is someone who had earlier shown me a sign displayed in the kitchen and stated, ″We have fundamental principles we live by, and I love this crap so much,″ it shouldn’t come as any surprise.
  • Please accept our warm welcome to the rapidly expanding Wisconsin-based pizza restaurant that is as brazen with its name as it is with its business goal to grow from 71 locations now to 700 sites in the next ten years.
  • Despite the fact that Toppers aspires to join the ranks of other huge pizza chains, the company’s proprietors are opposed to the corporate moniker.
  • Nonetheless, this does not rule out the possibility of the startup competing with the major companies in the future.
  • Toppers wants to do things its own way in order to earn the loyalty of clients in a market where competitors are physically just outside the window of the store.
  • Glander nods to a couple of ladies who are waiting outside the Papa John’s restaurant in Oshkosh a few minutes after storming out of the establishment.
  • The lights are turned on, and their figures are silhouetted against the glass door as they knock on it.
  • The women’s story does not have a happy ending.

At this time, Papa John’s delivery service is not available.Until 3 a.m., Toppers is available for delivery and takeout – every day of the week.Toppers are on the rise.Scott Gittrich, the creator and CEO of Toppers, can’t recall the first pizza he delivered while working as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza in 1984.The University of Illinois student had intended to use the pizza delivery service as a part-time career.

″I only held that work for two weeks before I decided to drop out of school.″ ‘All right, this is what I prefer.’ I said. This is what I do for a living. The restaurant and pizza business is where I want to be,’″ he said during an interview at the company’s Whitewater headquarters.Gittrich was 21.He is now 52 years old and owns his own pizza company, yet he hasn’t lost a single ounce of enthusiasm for the industry.

In order to advance inside Domino’s, he and his wife cut corners and saved money, even going without conveniences such as a vehicle or refrigerator, before founding the first Toppers in Champaign, Illinois, in 1991.It hasn’t been a straight path to success for me.With little question, ″I’ve had my share of terrifying times,″ he admitted.″When we originally opened our doors, we were quite successful in our first few of months of operation.″ The pizza in Champaign opened its doors in August.By October, he had begun looking for potential locations for a second restaurant. His food seller received a phone call from him in January informing him that he would be ″a bit late paying you.″ Although the store later closed, the Whitewater location, which opened in 1993, is still in operation.

The first Toppers franchise opened its doors in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 2002.There were 15 sites in all in 2007.By 2011, the number had more than doubled, and it had done so again by 2014.Additionally, it garnered the attention of national and industry media that year, appearing on lists of the top pizza chains, greatest franchise bargains, and top 500 franchises in the United States, among other categories.According to a recent Buzzfeed crowd-sourced list of The 43 Best Drunk Eats In College Towns Across America, Topperstix is one of the best. Its presence is still mostly concentrated in Wisconsin, where over half of its restaurants are situated, followed by Minnesota with 16 restaurants and Illinois with seven locations.

Toppers operates in a total of 11 states, including Nebraska, North Carolina, Indiana, and Texas, among others.Pizza with a good book Toppers’ ability to stay open longer than competitors helps it to grab more sales, particularly among college students, but Glander sees the greater aim as being a place to dine after the bars close down. It’s inevitable that you’ll identify that night with Toppers, and you’ll recall, ‘Oh man, that day I was with so-and-so, and we did that, that night,’ says the author.Pizza and a good tale are two of my favorite things.According to Scott Iversen, vice president of marketing at Toppers, the company’s first advertising agency noticed this when doing customer research in 2005.

  1. According to Iversen, the Topperstix were always coupled with a tale about how they were out late having fun and collecting Topperstix.
  2. ″It was always about the product first and then the story,″ he added.
  3. ″It was a kind of an ah-ha moment when we realized we’d hit upon something.
  4. If we catch individuals as they are growing, as they are younger and develop and mature and have children, we will have a more complete picture.
  5. It will eventually become their home.″ The vast personalized topping selections, which include four cheeses, eight sauces, 11 meats, and 18 unmeats, are all a part of the whole experience at Pizza Hut.
  1. Additionally, some of the alternatives are unusual, such as feta cheese, pepper jack cheese, 1000 Island sauce, Johnsonville bratwurst, pickles, tater tots, and noodles.
  2. Yes, these are real tots.
  3. While Aaron Johnson, who owns five franchise locations from Green Bay to Menasha with business partner Joe Kirschling, says their best sellers overall are Buffalo Chicken, Toppers Classic, and Meat Topper (all of which are made in-house), he notes that each store’s customers has their own preferences.
  4. In De Pere, the bacon cheeseburger is a local favorite.
  5. Customers in Green Bay’s east and west halves are divided, with the east preferring pepperoni and sausage pizzas and the west preferring more Mac ‘N Cheese pizzas.
  6. His consumers in Appleton like the Tater Tot Topper, whereas his customers in Menasha prefer the Taco Topper.

Each pizza is served with a choice of one of 16 dipping sauces.Why?Because Topperstix.

Breadsticks or breadsticks with cheese are typically served as a side dish at most pizza establishments. In addition to the pizzas, Topperstix, a mountain of gooey, melty cheese atop a pizza crust split into pieces for dipping in sauces, are just as much of a feast.According to Iversen, they account for 30 percent of all sales at Toppers.According to Iversen, ″It’s a significant component of our brand, much like McDonald’s and their french fries.″ When it comes to Topperstix, everyone enjoys the dipping sauces that come with it, so why not include dipping sauces with the pizza?″ The speaker’s voice The use of an irreverent, tough-guy tone is another strategy that has proven successful.″There will be negative comments about chains.

People are delighted to lend their support to the individual who owns a single restaurant. They’re going to open one across the street. They continue to adore them. They open another in the city next door, and people continue to enjoy them,″ Gittrich added.″When do you reach the point when you despise that person?″ Gittrich is well aware that the majority of people take pleasure in their neighborhood pizza joint.

Simply inquire – something he does on a regular basis.According to Gittrich, ″you will very seldom get someone to declare, ‘Pizza Hut is my place,’ or ‘Domino’s is my spot.″ The fact that we are thrown in with those individuals irritates me.If we serve our pizza in a box rather than on a beautiful dish, we may be grouped in with such establishments as well.

It is our responsibility to teach them (the general population).″ Toppers just finished a sweepstakes in which they could win a trip anywhere in the world except Wall Street. They set up phone lines for consumers to express their dissatisfaction with Toppers’ competition, and they aim to utilize the rants, with permission, as part of a forthcoming advertising campaign.Their tagline goes, ″Never settle for pizza cooked by a human being.″ Interested in becoming a franchisee?

Insist on destroying the outfit, Toppers.Make a pizza in the oven. And when the city manager of Bainbridge Island, Washington, enforced a cheese restriction only days before the NFC Championship game between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks, Toppers jumped at the chance to have some fun. They sponsored a LegalizeCheese campaign on social media, giving out pizzas and vouchers to anybody who posted images of themselves holding a Legalize Cheese sign or mentioning the hashtag #LegalizeCheese on their social media profiles.″I didn’t go out and get a bunch of investors or employ a bunch of experts to figure out how all of this would work,″ Gittrich explained.Customer requests such as ‘add a bit extra cheese on’ were met with impromptu responses, and we learned to adapt quickly.

  • That’s where the beauty of what people adore about us came from, just spontaneously.
  • ″Wow, it feels fantastic.″ These days, those interactions with clients take place mostly on social media platforms.
  • After years of depending only on professional photography, Toppers has begun adding images of its items taken from its customers’ social media feeds onto their website.
  • ″If your food appears horrible in the images that your customers are taking, you have an issue that no amount of expert food photography can fix,″ Iversen explained.
  • All of this contributes to what Iversen believes are the most important factors in grabbing the attention of millennials: openness, authenticity, personalisation, and customisation.
  • ″They are able to see straight through the brand messaging,″ Iversen explained.

″Great marketing will never be able to overcome a shaky business,″ says the author. We may have the best marketing in the world, but if we aren’t delivering on the fundamental promise of extremely rapid delivery and wonderful goods, it doesn’t matter how good our marketing is.″ How to maintain your current level of success After receiving the most frequent customer request to improve the mobile experience, Toppers worked for a year and a half to make it happen. It’s been a win-win situation.According to Iversen, internet orders cost around $5 more than phone or in-store sales.

  1. What is the reason for the increase in online sales?
  2. Putting the client in charge of their own experience, according to Iversen, is beneficial.
  3. ″It would be strange to phone a store and place an order for a bizarre mix, but the anonymity is appealing,″ Iversen says.
  4. The innovation strategy team, which looks at everything from the menu to the customer experience to marketing, came up with the idea of improving the online experience.
  5. According to Iversen, ″just because we are experiencing success now does not indicate that we will have success with our consumers tomorrow.″ Despite the fact that Gittrich’s firm is in one of the fastest expanding areas of the food industry, he believes that pizza’s ubiquitous presence in American society has its drawbacks.
  1. ″Pizza can be found almost anywhere these days.
  2. You can get a slice of pizza at the petrol station.
  3. In some ways, it’s become almost commoditized in some ways.
  4. Because I don’t want to see those orange boxes under heat lamps,″ Gittrich explained why he has to pay to fill his tank at the pump.
  5. ″It almost makes me sick to think about people eating pizza as if it’s just a lump of food that they consume for a meal.″ Pizza, in my opinion, is the coolest meal on the planet.
  6. It is the most delicious cuisine on the planet.
  • Excellent meatloaf.
  • I mean, I really enjoy meatloaf.
  • A decent fish fry will do just fine.
  • Of course, I enjoy a delicious hamburger when I get the chance.
  • What about Chinese food?
  • Yes.
  1. Despite this, you have a pizza on the kitchen table, and the kids are on their way to join you.
  2. When you order pizza, you’ve simply upgraded your dinner.″ He simply wishes to see more Americans spruce up their meals using Toppers.
  3. If someone asks where you eat pizza, I imagine that you will reply with ‘I go to Toppers’.″ Toppers is a favorite hangout of mine.
  4. The idea that we can be a thriving firm while still having individuals who are proud of it is something Gittrich hopes to realize in the future.

But Bean Crazy closes in Thousand Oaks

Last summer, the proprietors of Toppers Pizza in Camarillo, Ventura County, revealed intentions to expand their business by building a new, larger site across the street and down a block from their current location on Arneill Road in the city.According to those who are keeping track, they declared last week that the project’s final permission had been received over eight months after it was first disclosed. They did so by uploading a brief video announcing the commencement of renovations on the family-owned company’s Facebook page.

The video shows the Ponderosa Shopping Mall area formerly held by Camarillo Bridal (which has since relocated to the Paseo del Sol shopping center on Daily Drive) being cleared of its maze of dressing-room partitions, with a Bobcat chipping away at the remainder of the flooring left behind. It is said in the accompanying text that the upcoming restaurant at 425 Arneill Road would be ″nearly double the size″ of the current site, and that it will have ″two dog-friendly patios, two kitchens, enormous TVs, and over 20 fantastic beers″ on tap.Toppers Pizza co-owner Vim Jonker stated in an interview last summer that the present Camarillo store (520 Arneill Road, 805-385-4444) started in the 1990s and has now outgrown its 4,000-square-foot building. He stated that it will continue to be in operation till the new facility is ready to open its doors.

There are seven Toppers Pizza stores in Ventura County, as well as one location each in Valencia and Canyon Country (in Camarillo, Rudy’s Mexican Restaurants, which had been open since late December at the Camarillo Village Square retail area, closed in late December). The restaurant’s Facebook page was last updated on Nov.7, and it shows its address as 2508 Las Posas Road in Santa Barbara, which is a combination of the street name in Camarillo and the city in where the Rudy’s brand was founded in 1976.Although a Rudy’s sign still hangs over the door in Camarillo, the location is not included on the Rudy’s website, which is a shame.

To assist pay for improvements, Bean Crazy began a Go Fund Me campaign in October, describing the project as an effort to better compete with ″the high class retail complex down the street.″ According to a Facebook post, the effort, which had earned $427 of the declared $5,000 target as of this week, has been redirected to ″assist us in covering the remaining of our bills and costs.″ The company’s website is still operational, but its phone line has been terminated (140 W.

St. Cloud Times

In the St.Cloud area, there are a plethora of pizza joints to choose from. From less-expensive fast-food alternatives that may still satisfy a need to more upmarket, flavorful pizza joints, there is something for everyone.

Toppers Pizza is primarily oriented toward the second category, offering several innovative speciality pizzas such as the Chicken Tuscano Topper and the Loaded Tot-zza, among others. The names have the potential to cause readers to raise their eyebrows as their mouths begin to moisten. However, both the Expert and the Critic can verify that Toppers, although tasting far superior to fast-food pizza, provides lightning-fast service. In the course of our visit, we discreetly timed some of the orders (very National Security Administration – current comedy!) and discovered that orders took around 10 minutes or less.

As a result, you may get better-quality pizza in a shorter amount of time.We have the option to have it all!Neither Jake (the Expert) nor Kate (the Critic) were strangers to Toppers Pizza; Kate often orders from the establishment, while Jake said that it was his go-to pizza while attending college (St.Cloud State University, represent!) They hadn’t been over to dine at the restaurant since it reopened in St.

  • Cloud, so they couldn’t provide an honest evaluation (more on that later).
  • So they made their way to downtown, their stomachs grumbling.
  • As is customary for them, the Expert and the Critic invite members of the public as well as their fellow journalists to join them for dinner.
  • Chris Shields, a Times staffer whose music essays can be found in our Life section and occasionally in Up Next (he’s in this issue), was our guest this time.
  • They may be married, but Kate and Chris can eat and discuss pizza together like they’re old professionals, with no bickering over who was responsible for yesterday night’s cleaning.
  • Following is our Toppers experience, which includes remarks from assistant manager Jonny Knowlton.
  • Please enjoy!
  • (If restaurant employees choose to make remarks, the Expert and the Critic always enable them to do so.) The rest of the story is below.
  • Despite the fact that the three customers were familiar with Toppers Pizza, one thing they all wanted to know was if they could eat inside.
  • You may, albeit there is limited space – a few great, large tables and seats along the wall, in a bar-like setting.
  • However, if you’d want to linger over a piece of Three Little Pigs with a dining buddy, there is enough space for both of you in the restaurant.
  • We watched a large number of people walk in, place their orders at the register, and then wait at the tables for a few minutes.
  • Location/hours/phone/online: Toppers Pizza is located at 202 Sixth Ave.
  • S., which is only a few blocks from the St.
  • Cloud State University campus.
  • It is open from 10:30 a.m.
  • until 3 a.m., seven days a week.

There is a phone number for them at 774-2525.Visit to place an order, peruse the menu, and all of that wonderful stuff.(Chris has bought from Toppers online approximately five or six times since the company reopened, and he has been pleased with the outcomes.Toppers is a national pizza delivery and pick-up restaurant that first opened its doors in 1991 and today has more than 60 locations in 11 states. In St.

Cloud, Toppers had a facility at 2815 Division St.from 2004 to 2010, but it closed after the company’s ownership changed. To commemorate the anniversary, the present Toppers opened its doors in late 2014 and kicked off its operations with an unprecedented offer: free pizza for a year to the first 50 customers.Everyone like freebies, and Knowlton said people were already lined up at 11 a.m.the day before the shop opened, ″and it was freezing.″ The development of a second Toppers for St.

Cloud is underway.″We’re here to stay,″ Knowlton said emphatically. The food: Toppers provides 16 gourmet pizzas, ranging from the Cool C-B-R (chicken, bacon, and ranch) to the Maui Topper (Canadian bacon, pineapple, and other toppings) to the Buffalo Chicken Topper (chicken, bacon, and ranch). You may even create your own with a plethora of ingredient possibilities from which to pick (even noodles and Tater Tots).Knowlton claims that the Loaded Tot-zza is the most popular pizza at the St.Cloud store, and that the youngsters really enjoy it.

This dish is composed of ranch sauce, Tater Tots, bacon and green onions with nacho cheese drizzles on top.You may choose between three different crusts: crispy thin, hand tossed, or tall boy (deep crust).Apart from pizza (of course), Toppers is well-known for their TopperStix, cheesy breadsticks that are available in a variety of flavors including original (cheese), Pepperonistix, Baconstix, Tacostix, Chocolate Baconstix, Cinnamonstix, and Chocolate Baconstix.Kate advises eating the last one while wearing sweats and watching Netflix during a Netflix marathon. Finally, there are wings available, both boneless and buffalo style, on the menu. The tastes include oven roasted buffalo, mild buffalo, fiery buffalo, smokey BBQ, sweet chili, and Parmesan garlic, to name a few.

There are several different sizes available.Toppers is all about the dipping sauces, or should we say ″dippin’ sauces,″ as we say in the South. When you order a pizza or TopperStix, you may customize the sauce to your liking.Among the flavors are chipotle ranch, blue cheese, bacon honey mustard and vanilla icing (the latter of which is probably for the dessert sticks, but hey, we’re not here to pass judgment on that). What we ate: We shared a big hand-tossed Toppers Classic and a large hand-tossed El Cubano, which were both delicious.

  1. Pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions, and green peppers were on the basic pizza (we said hold the mushrooms; the Expert is not a fan).
  2. The El Cubano is based on the Cuban sandwich and is made with pulled pork, Canadian bacon, mozzarella, and chopped pickles.
  3. It is served with a bacon honey mustard sauce and topped with pickles.
  4. The rest of the story is below.
  5. Kate concentrated on the Toppers Classic, which she found to be delightful.
  1. According to Knowlton, the pizza dough is made fresh everyday, and you can tell – the crust is wonderful, with just a hint of soft doughy-ness on the outside.
  2. Chris observed that Toppers places a greater emphasis on the cheese than the sauce, which, in his opinion, results in a superior pizza.
  3. Toppers deserves a lot of credit for stuffing its pizzas full of cheese and toppings while reducing the grease to an absolute minimum.
  4. There’s nothing quite like looking at a greasy box or plate to make you lose your appetite.
  5. Jake and Chris were both very smitten with the El Cubano, which Chris described as having a ″rich taste to it.
  6. ″ In fact, he claims that it is his favorite Toppers pizza to date.

Even though they carried leftovers back to their workplace, it was clear that the El Cubano was a hit with their coworkers. And, of course, the Stix — both the original and the Pepperonistix — had to be performed by the ensemble. They were delectable.

Coca-Cola products are available in 20-ounce and 2-liter bottle sizes at Toppers Markets.Diet Cokes were consumed by the three.Ambiance: The interior is tiny but well furnished, and it reflects Toppers’ sassy (ha!) sense of humour throughout.Pizzas are priced at $9.99 for the lowest size (9 inches). The cost of the 16-inch party size is $22.99.

The prices of Stix range from $6.99 to $12.99.The price of wings ranges from $8.99 to $19.99 for the greatest orders that may be placed. If Toppers is a touch out of your price range as a college student, go online for discounts and coupons (and coupons). The overall experience was excellent, and we’re glad to have a great pizza choice back in St.Cloud!

Toppers Pizza now selling ‘Tall Boys’

The 3rd of November, 2010 ‘The pizza all other pizzas look up to,’ says the marketing department of Toppers Pizza, a 28-unit diverse pizza delivery chain that has finally developed ″the pizza all other pizzas look up to.″ It’s referred to as ″The Tall Boy″ in the literal sense. In the words of Scott Iversen, director of marketing at Toppers Pizza, ″The Tall Boy is a continuation of our flavor dominance and reflects the best of our product offerings.″ ″Our customers are continually requesting our Topperstix—then it dawned to us one day that we might use Topperstix as the basis for our pizzas.″ The Tall Boy combines Topperstix’s cheesy, garlicky, thick crust with any of its more than 50 toppings or House Pizza components to create a delicious meal.Iversen remarked that as the toppings were added, ″we realized that we were dealing with a really tall pizza.″ Other thick crust or pan-fried pizzas have a tendency to dip in the centre, but this one does not.″ It remains thick throughout the entire process.

It was an easy decision to call it The Tall Boy.″ Toppings’ new ″Spank Your Buds″ tagline is the latest product to be introduced under the brand’s new positioning statement, which has since become the company’s official platform for the kinds of ongoing marketing messages that provide their fans with the kind of unique experience they’ve come to expect: one that is fun, irreverent and engaging.According to Iversen, ″our new motto simply reaffirms what our followers have been telling us from the beginning of our journey.″ In the words of the Toppers, ″Our cuisine tastes better than the national guys, and we’ve devised a slogan to express that.″ Toppers relies on marketing messaging that portray them as being in contrast to the culture of the larger chain pizza establishments in order to succeed. As evidence of their stance, they cite to recent sales growth: Toppers Pizza boosted average unit volumes and system-wide revenues in 2009 as a result of the addition of five new locations and 18 new contracts.″The reason for our success is straightforward: we are not one of the industry’s ‘Wal-Marts.’ Scott Gittrich, creator and CEO of Toppers Pizza, stated that ″the major chains have lost their uniqueness and brand connection.″ ″On the other hand, our consumers are devoted to our company and its products.

Our eccentricity and edginess have given us character, and as a result, we’ve been able to develop by building deep ties with a hitherto untapped national population – the 18 to 34 year olds,″ says the CEO.

How Many Pizzas Do I Need? What To Order For Your Next Pizza Party

Pizza is served piping hot and hearty, and it has the ability to bring people together with a single bite of crispy, cheesy perfection.Pizza is a popular dish to serve for any occasion, no matter how you slice it.Pizza night is a special occasion, and you don’t want to be caught short with your pies.

For your convenience, we’ve put together the following chart to assist you in determining how many pizzas you should order to satisfy the hunger of your family and friends.

Start With the Basics

  • Before you go into the specifics, you need consider the following fundamentals: What is the estimated number of persons you will be serving?
  • How many adults and children are going to be eating pizza tonight?
  • Is pizza the only thing you’ll be offering, or will there be other dishes as well?
  • Do you want to send a few slices home with visitors, or do you want to make enough for yourself and some friends?

Once you’ve figured out the answers to these questions, you can start delving into the delectable details while calculating how many pizzas you’ll need to purchase.

Figure Out the Slices Per Size

  • The size of the pizza you purchase will impact the number of slices that may be expected to be served by each pie: Small pizzas are typically between 8 and 10 inches in diameter and generate around six pieces each pie.
  • Typically, medium-sized pizzas are 12 inches in diameter and provide around eight pieces.
  • Approximately 10 slices will be provided by large pizzas, which are 14 inches in diameter.
  • In the United States, extra-large pizzas are 16 to 18 inches in diameter and will serve at least 12 people.

Please call ahead of time to confirm the quantity of slices per size for your pizzas before you place your order.

Don’t Underestimate Appetites

Obviously, if Uncle Joe can finish half of a medium-sized pizza and still be hungry, you know that a single pie will not suffice for your gathering.Despite the fact that it might be difficult to predict how many slices individuals will consume, it is important not to underestimate anyone’s appetite. When calculating the number of pizzas to order, three slices per adult and two slices each child is a decent starting point from which to build your estimate.

If you know ahead of time that you will have visitors with large appetites for pizza, plan on one or two extra pieces per person just to be on the safe side.If your pizzas will be smaller in size or have a very thin crust, make sure to allow for an additional slice per person in your calculations. The following is an alternative method of calculating the number of pizzas you’ll need, based on a medium pizza size (eight slices) as an example:

  1. Make a calculation based on the number of guests you’ll be feeding and multiply the amount of slices per adult or two slices per youngster
  2. This quantity should be multiplied by the number of slices you may anticipate to obtain from the pizza size you’ve chosen.

For example, if you’re feeding five adults who will each have three slices of pizza, you’ll need to purchase two medium pizzas based on the above method.

Consider the Occasion

It’s critical to consider the time of day as well as the meal itself when planning your menu.If you’re planning a pizza-only lunch for two to four individuals, one big pizza should be sufficient for the occasion. When putting up a Sunday sports day spread of chips, dips, wings, and other finger foods to serve eight people, you may want to consider ordering two, three, or four pizzas to fill out your spread, especially if the event is going to linger for a lengthy period of time.

Pizza and children’s parties go together like peanut butter and jelly.Pizzas in the medium size range are ideal for this sort of gathering.Rather than the typical eight slices per pizza, request that your medium pizzas be cut into 10 pieces when you place your order. However, even if you’re focused on providing food for kids, some parents may want a slice or two while they’re picking up and dropping off their children.

Top Off Your Planning With Toppings

  • Nobody likes to get into a squabble about pizza toppings. Pizza toppings, on the other hand, continue to be a topic of contention among pizza purists. According to a YouGov study conducted in 2019, pepperoni is the most popular pizza topping among 52 percent of Americans, with sausage coming in at number three on the list at 34 percent and mushrooms coming in at number three at 31 percent. Bacon and plain cheese were only two of the top three choices among the 20 percent of pizza eaters who took part in the poll. Before placing your order for pizza, gather your family’s input on their preferred toppings in order to prevent a pizza-fighting situation. If all you have to deal with is simple cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and peppers to serve three people, then one pizza should be more than enough space to do the job. Consider the following example: one large pizza might be divided into three thirds basic cheese, one-third pepperoni, and one-third sausage and peppers. Don’t forget about the people who enjoy simple cheese pizzas. You should save around one-third to one-half of your pizzas as basic cheese if you’re buying numerous pizzas for your gathering. Pequod’s also provides a delicious selection of vegetarian pizzas to choose from. Keep the following considerations in mind while choosing your pizza toppings: When making specialty pizzas with a mixture or range of toppings, it is vital to know the toppings your guests love before you begin. If you’re unsure, don’t be hesitant to ask for clarification. In any other case, you may find yourself with a lot of leftovers.
  • The addition of additional toppings, such as more than two toppings per pizza, will result in a somewhat thicker pizza than the same pizza with a single topping. Extra toppings on your pizza, when combined with speciality or thicker crusts, will give each slice more bulk than a thin-crust pizza with a single topping.

Know How to Place Your Order for a Group

  • Parties and family get-togethers with a dozen or more guests necessitate the following specific considerations: Choose the biggest pizza size that is available: Despite the fact that an extra-large pizza will be more expensive than a medium pizza, the cost per slice will be less expensive than pizzas of a smaller diameter. Your order’s overall price will be lower as a consequence of this reduction.
  • To prepare for expected leftovers, gather the following ingredients:
  • Consider how many visitors may ask for a piece or two to take home with them once they have finished their meal. After all, pizza tastes just as good the next day as it does the day after that – even for breakfast. When placing your order, round up to the next dollar and request an additional pie.

Another word of caution: it takes time to create the perfect pizza for your visitors. The fact that you’ve ordered in advance of your party provides the opportunity for your preferred delivery crew to have the time they need to cook your pizzas just the way you want them.Is it still unclear how many pizzas you should order?

You may just place an order from Pequod’s Pizza the next time you’re hosting a meeting in the Chicago or Morton Grove areas, and we’ll work with you to determine exactly what you want.
